(Solved) Initialization code for a rintelligent ECT60 fails when run on an ECR60

Category: Driver Boards

Do you have the errors from syslog?

I would like to see the 60fe and 60fd sdos and pdos out specifically and only the 6 mentioned PDOs in there.

Here is a document on how to use the drive in TwinCAT.

I guess it is worthwhile to check it works there.

Carousel with counts move x amount of pockets

Category: Advanced Configuration

i have copied the carousel component and removed the align_pin if statement from state 8. I think this is ment for dc motors. So far it seems to work fine.

Category: Driver Boards

FWIW, here are the files in question as of now, with the requested lines commented out or removed. I must still be missing something - or the manual leaves out critical information...

(Solved) Initialization code for a rintelligent ECT60 fails when run on an ECR60

Category: Driver Boards

Understood. I tried the above - no change, status light still blinking, still in "PREOP".

Regarding a factory reset, I'm not sure how to apply it. See attached screenshot:

(Solved) Initialization code for a rintelligent ECT60 fails when run on an ECR60

Category: Driver Boards

I specifically was after the digital IO like here
#net sig300 lcec.0.0.digital-inputs => baxedmstatus.0.ect60inputs
net sig301 baxedmstatus.0.wirenok => qtvcp_embed.wirenok_led baxedmfeedcontrolV02.0.wireNOK
net sig302 baxedmstatus.0.wirefeedon => qtvcp_embed.wirefeed_led qtvcp_embed.led_wire
#net sig303 baxedmstatus.0.ect60-0-outputs => lcec.0.0.set60FE-1
#net sig304 baxedmstatus.0.ect60-1-outputs => lcec.0.1.set60FE-1
Put a # in front of the net lines. "and stuff" is vague for anything else that might cause problem for linuxcnc to start.
The logic of your machine is not correct then, but that's not important now. Get it to start only.

I will try that, yes. What is meant by "nets and stuff?"

I will also try the factory reset but am unsure how well that will work. What I mean is, let's say that I issue the factory reset command upon entry to the code. Then, the following code will immediately configure the driver into a "not factory reset" condition. Is the thinking that something was changed that has not been corrected and that a factory reset is the only way to fix it?

Trouble with Cia402 drive configuration

Category: EtherCAT

I meant "lcec_configgen".
I don't think there is a guide for TwinCAT here, have not seen one.
Maybe my old stumbling tries with Twincat still works.
Youtube video Twincat start
Download TwinCAT XAE shell from beckhoff (free).
It might need other downloads as well, but once installed it seems to work.

So I think we have tried everything now.

TwinCAT should be supported by the manufacturer, so you should be able to ask the manufacturer how to get it running.
Once you have got was is needed to get the drive from PreOP+E it should be possible to replicate in lcec.

Can you comment out nets and things in the hal file to also remove the digital in and out?
rodw also mentioned doing a factory reset of the drive by writing to a sdo. Can you do that too?

Beckhoff AX5YZZ internal probing

Category: EtherCAT

If you already have it working in TC3 then my stuff won't help.  I don't know if you are using Beckhoff drives but here is some documentation that might help.  I think you will have to parametize everything and then enable with something like S-0-0405 before initiating with the control word.

Pages 104-105:
download.beckhoff.com/download/Document/...scription_hw2_en.pdf

Many IDNs dealing with probing...just search for "prob":
download.beckhoff.com/download/Document/...N_Description_en.pdf

Hope this helps.

Carousel with counts move x amount of pockets

Category: Advanced Configuration

okay, i will sure to be using in that in the end. however when i am using M120 or just put the pocket number manualy it just gets stuck in state 8 where it is waiting for align_pin to be something else then 0. As nothing moves , this will never happen. also i constantly getting the error "the toolchanger has hailed its alignment check". I have used the carousel comp many times. howeve this is the first time with only a stepgen. with that in mind and that i barely find anyone use it the same i am question if this actualy works with stepgen (Counts).

Going from Devian 10 to 12 has created problems

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Thank you very much for explaining this. I do hate not understanding things. And I now understand how it can be that simply writing to a file effect irq's, and why changes made don't persist after a reboot (something else that was troubling me). Clearly this is an instance of a pseudo file system (something I'd never heard of until this morning).

This whole experience has extended my limited knowledge of Linux. And, incredibly enough, I now seem to have a functioning system. The diagnostic tests look good and, although I've hardly stressed it very much, Linux CNC appears to be perfectly functional save for the fact that the Axis window won't maximize. I'll start a separate thread on this as it's a pretty specific issue. Hopefully a solution will turn up, and f none does I've also found some workarounds.

Many thanks to both of you for responding. Were it not for you two I would never have got things working.
