That is almost always the case, and usually they do not care that the ground is connected to + of the plasma as they are galvanicaly isolated. This is the reason i always make the work table separate from the machine part, less to worry about if something goes wrong and much better isolation.

Question: I have notice that the terminal that goes to the work piece +ve is not connected to mains earth is this correct? BUT it would be when being used as the table will be connect to mains earth.

Yes, it should be 1/32 for any type of start as it has nothing to do with it, that is the frequency that goes to the 7i96 and gets counted there. Also using scratch start with 2 x 1meg R's one from each terminal what would be the divide Freq. ie f/32 I will be using a Mesa 7i96

Thanks for the rapid response.
The cut40 will be siting under the table so I might as well bond it to the table along with the control box.
What was the name of the Hotel 300 mtrs from you?
Edit : also on reading the THC manual it shows the W1 mode as down for unipolar BUT the board shows it as up. Which is correct?

Depends on what you like,
Mountains = summer and winter
expensive cars = summer
well not much more here, it is quiet and laid back, not hectic, very friendly people, most speak English, quite cheap compared to other surrounding countries, coffee is 0.5 to 1 euro, decent meal is from 3 to 8 euro, beer from 1 to 3 etc. These are restaurant prices.
It is slowly becoming a touristic spot as can be noticed by tourists all over, on bikes, cars, motorcycles etc as the nature is good looking ! ( can not say beautiful as i am aware there are much better looking places in the world)
My city has huge mountains ( 2280m above sea level ), 4 rivers within 20KM, and a mess of infrastructure ! New building are being built every day.
Hiking is the main attraction, for me not interesting at all as i tend to walk a lot !
Basically if you are after very low stress vacation to run from everything and still be near or in civilisation and enjoy coffee, this is the place.
Wifi is free everywhere, speed is 20Mb and above, 4G works properly, laundry service only available in hotels, food delivery is very cheap ( small town ), ......can not think of any thing else important !
Coffee and food is on me, every day you stay!

W1 is set to unipolar on my THCAD. Bipolar should be set if you need to measure +-5V for THCAD10 or +-150V for THCAD300.

Do I need to use the FREF+ &- terminals on the THC-10 as it states in the manual that it is not generally needed.
Just wondering before starting the soldering.
