That's why I bought it Clive.
No HF start, pilot arc and sensibly priced.
Looking at converting to the Macine Torch you've got too at a later date...

Just need to get the pin out and the termination correct when I do.
Did yours come with a 16A plug @Clive S?

What travel Z axis is sensible?
I was thinking of getting a 300mm travel ball screw 1605 from Fred at BST.
Shorter is still doable?

I used a 150mm ballscrew and got 86mm of travel. If I did it again I would have used 200mm

It depends on what thickness of stuff you want to cut on top of the slats ie if you want to cut say 100mm box section you need more that just cutting 10mm plate.
I have just done some slots it 100mm box by just removing the slats

So belt position...?
I'm just playing with the CAD for giggles...
Do people think there would be a particularly large difference in performance / stiffness with either A or B belt location for the Y axis?
For simplicity, bolting the motor direct to the carriage plate and running the belt below the linear rail (image A below) would be easier, but can't help but think having the belt directly below the table tube seems a better bet (image B below). B would need an extra plate and mount though obvisously to move the motor inboard...
Thoughts? Or am I just being pedantic...?

Ta,
