Hello Plasmac Experts!

Today I upgraded my machine from wheezy 2.7 to the current master 2.9 and added auto squaring funtionality.
This worked well. I have a working config for plasma now.
After that I tried to get Plasmac working and ran into 2 Problems:
1) I made an material file using martialverter but it doesn't show up in the software.
2)When I try to open a nc file via the icon or the dropdown menu the usual window pops up but i cant open the folders i see.

Has anyone had the problem before and can maybe help me?

Thank you in advance from sunny Austria!

Cheers,
Martin

The material file needs to be in your configuration directory and needs to be named <machine_name>_material.cfg

I vaguely remember a problem similar opening directories but not sure what it was. If it comes to me I'll let you know.

Did you do a buildbot installation or is it run in place?

Hallo Martin,
By nc files you mean ngc files, or?
Normaly the nc files will not be visible so you have to select ALL at the botom right for file types where it says ngc files.
If you can not open folders, that is something i never encountered so i can not help.
As for the material issue that should have been already fixed by PhillC as i recal reading about it in the "another plasma component" topic here

forum.linuxcnc.org/plasma-laser/35449-an...nt?start=1630#143075

That is a long thread but it should be in the last 10 pages or so.

The file is in the right directory and named right. Is it possible that linuxcnc needs special right for the file to work with it?
I did a buildbot install.

The folder problem is especially interesting because on the same machine with the old config everything seems to work fine.

Normal user permissions are all that is required.
If you are opening LinuxCNC from a terminal you should get an error if it cannot open the file.
Are you using Axis or Gmoccapy.

Could you zip your configuration directory and post it.

I can't test as I'm only on my phone at the moment. Can you try replacing the comma in Pierce Height with a . and see if that fixes it.
