Z axis probe height init was created by jay1st
Hello everyone

At every start of a pierce the Z axis goes all the way up to the limit switch before probing and it's time consuming.
Is there a way to avoid that ?

My Z has 70mm travel and i want to keep like that as i do cut some square pipes on the table as well

@ work right now, maybe tomorrow i'll stop by the shed to take a picture.

What parameter has influence on this behaviour ?
BTW probing by torch height, no ohmic sense yet.

i used 0 to have full retract before moving to the next start point, evn if i lower it to 10mm it will still go all the way up to the limit switch before probing

The same problem. Any value of the Probe Height causes this behavior. Also it goes up up to the endswitch. I think the reason is that sometimes plasmac looses track of Z position.

And also I have a problem with IHS. It also doesn't work on debian 7(even on simulation install without any changes). On Linux MInt 18 everything works fine.

It shouldn't, do you do any Z jog moves or Z offsets.

Debian 7, LinuxCNC version 2.7 has no external offsets, reverse run, so will not work, unless upgraded to 2.8 or 2.9

I have just tried Debian 7 with master branch and the sim runs fine.
