No need, I see the issue.  I’ll work out a solution then.

Thanks

I take back what I said. This seems right to me in a simulation (at 11:03pm anyways). I will have to check it on the machine tomorrow.

Today I had to do a quick job and use the simple cut function and I wanted to use the laser to see where the sheet was cut and if it was straight but it seems to have the same problem that offsets, so I had to guide me by the torch :(

Was that using the button function?
It worked for me today? I entered x = 1200, y  = 0 and it worked nice. Cut from torch position to 1200
My understanding is the move is relative to the torch position but I usually only use it to sever a 1200 wide sheet, starting at x = 0

I don't think the laser is designed to follow such a cut. Its just for alignment, zeroing and rotation.

If it worked with the latest version then your offsets are in the wrong direction.
THe offsets are measured from the torch position, similar to the tool offsets for the scribe.
The code needs to be reverted to what it was for consistency. I will do this tomorrow.
I also added the ability to load the latest file from a directory today.

So let a run-python button receive a parameter for the current file name and a method to load a new file into QTP

Do you mean the operator needs to enter the file name?

No I was thinking if the button code:
1. allowed a python script to be run and that the script was passed the current file name
2. Had a method to load an arbitrary file name into qtplasmac.. I thought this might be automated using a folder watcher or something.

One application might be for the user to hit a load next button and the current file was archived (moved to a done folder) and the user supplied script  would load the next file to be processed if another one existed in the input folder.

I don't have any interest in getting into file handling.
