I am getting error messages on startup and shutdown on the sample configs.

Startup:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/qtvcp/widgets/screen_options.py", line 253, in process_error
    STATUS.emit('play-sound', '%s' % self.mchnMsg_sound_type)
AttributeError: 'ScreenOptions' object has no attribute 'mchnMsg_sound_type'

Shutdown:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/qtvcp/widgets/screen_options.py", line 263, in closeEvent
    sound = self.shutdown_alert_sound_type
AttributeError: 'ScreenOptions' object has no attribute 'shutdown_alert_sound_type'

Bearing in mind that this is on a earlier RTAI build that Andy did here

Noticed that a while back, did not care much as i do not like startup and shutdown sounds. PTSD from to much windows.

can you post the screenoptions.py file?

the line numbers don't jive with my current file.

Haha, I am the same Tom, I don't go much on the sounds either but I am also not fond of error messages.

Yep, it runs perfectly. I first thought I was missing a dependency but I can't see any reference to that so then I thought it may be something that has been fixed since then.

I did do some work a while back on preference. - so one could eliminate the startup greeting.

maybe the system needs update.

Sorry Chris I didn't see your request for screenoptions.py, I shouldn't try to do this on my phone...

I should add that this is on Buster and I get the same with blender and qtaxis.
