No idea. Problem is, i have 2 cams and need them(the second for overviewing the milling process). For longer jobs the cam for touch off disappears and has to be restarted in linux with usbreset. Kernel gives then a higher video number and i have to reboot to correct this. So i made a symlink with udev, you see the problem? Maybe somthing like the old camview.py:
" if you want special setting of your camera on start up, you can supply a command through the properties something like this:
v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video1 -c exposure_auto=1 -c exposure_auto_priority=0 -c exposure_absolute=10
it sets for your second camera (/dev/video1), the shutter time to manual settings and changes the shutter time to 10 ms.
see v4l2-ctl --help for more details"

Someone else asked a similar question:
forum.linuxcnc.org/qtvcp/42654-how-to-ch...ce-used-by-cam-align
Would that help? or do you need a way to do it without closing the panel?
