The idea of starting with and virtual environment is just because i still have no dedicated machine, and to not to loose time learning and testing various GUIs to see how I will be doing the workflow of the production of the pieces , configurations and other stuff which is not really related on
testing servos and other hardware things. This will permit me to get more comfortable with the software.

Ive started a new project.

I want to control a mini 3 axis cnc ive built, with LinuxCNC. The problem I hit, i have a BTT SKR v1.4 Turbo board, a PC and an OrangePi3 LTS SBC board.

The Plan:
Install LinuxCNC Debian on the PC. Install and configure Remora on the PC. Connect to the OrangePi3 LTS through ethernet connection. This in turn, will be connected to the BTT SKR v1.4 Turbo board via SPI. The SKR board has the latest LPC1769 supported Remora firmware installed on it.

Follow this repo for my progress. Feel free to collaborate!

Yes, use the picture icon above. There is a size limit do I usually download pics from Google photos by right clicking on the photo rather then getting the full size photo which will be too big;

Look for my motion.interp.* pins for tangential knives etc too :)
If you follow the docs, a RIP build is super easy now.

It`s possible to post photos here? Then I could show some photos of my lathe.

I've not looked at Master for some time, I'll have to check it out.

There are some Sims. I have not gone looking for docs but I think the ini files etc are well documented

If it is in Master, are there instructions for enabling and configuring the S-curve accelerations?

Hi Timo,
There’s no rush on my end. I want to thoroughly research which control system to use first. The issue seems to be the two handwheels that can be used simultaneously. It worked well with Mach3 using two printer ports, but I’m looking for something more modern.
Hans
I don't beleive there is anything stopping you from using 2 mpgs at once. Its just most examples are based on a hand held encoder. See if you can find photos of Andy Pugh's lathe. I think it was a Holbtook. He has the two MPGs on it and he went as far as getting castings made  to match the original lathe.

Almost all of us use older desktops and no one (not even me) advise on using new or old laptops, if you bothered to read anything here.
And who is Valentina? I did have several friends named Valentina, all married by now.

Keep us updated what you do there :-)

Keep in mind that the hand wheel can most probably just be connected to "normal inputs" if you want to use dedicated encoder inputs for the spindle or other things, like scales.

Any recommendations on running an older desktop as opposed to a new laptop? Also drawing in Valentina. Do they play well together?
