7i92t_7i77_7i76d.bin is fine for a 7I92T + 7I77 / 7I76U setup.

The only case where 7I76U specific FPGA firmware is needed
is when you want to use the  7I76U's serial port in RS-485 mode
(say for Modbus), but even if you need Modbus, you could use the
7I77s serial port (that natively supports RS-485)  for that.

THC is enabled in the GUI and mesh mode is turned off

left the config attached in case it might be of any use

Hi, I'm building a plasma table (QtPlasmaC, THCAD-300) around a 7I80HD-T and would like to run the ST8_PLASMA config — 8 stepgens plus the two encoder inputs is exactly the right fit for this machine.

I see PIN_ST8_PLASMA_72.vhd ships in the 7i80hdt.zip hostmot2 source, but there's no prebuilt 7i80hdt_st8_plasma.bin among the stock configs, looks like it was only ever built for the Spartan 7I80HD.

Any chance of getting a Trion build of that config a test. If it's easier to point me at the Efinity project setup to build it myself, that works too.

Thanks!

coming from Heidenhain i can just move in one axis including RL/RR (Heidenhain cutter compensation) and the tool will move in one axis as well but it seems like linuxcnc doesnt move in one axis but two. If there is not much space but i need to use cutter comp, then i move to the starting point of the entry radius with 5% distance of the endmill and the entry radius is 5% bigger than the endmill as well and this works flawlessly with Heidenhain.

attached images:
1: starting point. Circle is cutter, green line is entry move and blue line is contour to cut.
2: moving straight to the starting point of the entry radius then continuing moving along the entry radius.
3: this is what i believe linuxcnc does, it moves the tool to the left completely through the entry radius

is there anything i can do to achieve what i can with Heidenhain? (can this be hacked?)

How would you do this?

The exit move is exactly the same (though mirrored) but linuxcnc doesnt have an issue with that.

that would be handled in the VTK backplot display python and cpp files in qtpyvcp backend. probably not a small code change and vtk is one of the most complex code sections in qtpyvcp because it comprises of multiple files for different actors, and we recently have made the cpp updates to help with large file loading so it can be confusing. bu7t that is where you would look for coding changes to accomplish what you are wanting!

Our "businessmen" used EU subsidies to buy machines they didn't need at all, only to put them up for sale after a year or two... This is one big fraud where thieves make money and honest people lose.

Yeah, not possible, and not because of this or anything here, not sure if you bumped into a post some 2 months ago where i mentioned the government literally destroyed my business (paid for china machines for whoever applied for that grant) so now i have 5 or 6 new machines collecting dust and a new shop i have no use for.
I hate to say it, but i will have to become a youtuber or start training schools, be it online or live, ... or start doing flooring as this has gone from 2-4 euro per sq meter two years ago, to 11-14 euro now! And of course, i am bloody good at it, but .... oh hell no.

That kind of sucks. Maybe in a few months you can take up servicing all these "new" Chinese machines when they start breaking down. But in the interim sounds like your screwed.

I currently have a machine that uses a combination of a Mesa 7i92TM and 7i77. But all axis outputs are used and I need another axis for a toolchanger. I want to use a 7i76U for step/dir controlling a servo. Can I use the 7i92t_7i77_7i76d.bin for this or is the 7i76U a different board? If I need an other .bin file, can someone make it for me?

YouTube will be lucky to buy you a carton of beer a month but if you use it to promote your business that can be a good business. You need a business plan to put it together... which means you have some hard thinking ahead!

The problem has been resolved after adjusting the parameters of `joint` and `pid`.

I apologize for asking so many questions.Strangely enough, the MESA7i92 which also has PID and  deadband, does not have output pulse count error. I'm a retired person in my sixties, and I only use CNC as a hobby now. I was so eager to ask because I discovered a problem with motor positioning. In my experience, I haven't encountered any open-loop pulse positioning errors with CNC controllers,so I only checked it with a logic analyzer yesterday,The number of pulses in an open-loop stepper motor must be absolutely accurate. Back in the early days of GRBL, I also found an operation that caused a crash, and I immediately notified the author. After confirming the error, he escalated it to a serious bug and fixed it( github.com/gnea/grbl/issues/238 )

Deviations may occur due to the PID controller and the deadband; these shouldn’t exceed ±1.
If you then also take measurements using pendulum movements without setting the G64 parameter, the difference may be even greater.

If you’ve got a logic analyser, why didn’t you use it earlier to measure the pulses?
And if you’ve got something like that, you must have a multimeter too, yet you still haven’t measured the voltages at the DIR pin.
This is a hobby project; I’m really happy to help, but there are limits – especially when you keep posting such fragmented information in the thread.

The only thing I can say is, yes, there are definitely 1,000 bugs in Riocore and a lot of things could be handled better.
I try to implement it as best I can; when bugs are reported to me, I try to fix them as soon as possible.
But if neither DIR nor Scale were working here, you certainly wouldn’t be the only one to report it.

I’ve no idea how many people use Riocore – I don’t think it’s that many –
If I keep coming across new boards from all over the world that have been built specifically for Riocore,
then I suppose there must be one or two people using them.
and the complaints seem to be kept within reasonable limits.

We used "BendDeduction" I think it was 5x material thickness or was it radius?
