Every start of the EMC is reported:

[ 5865.413636] RTAPI: ERROR: Unexpected realtime delay on task 1
[ 5865.413642] This Message will only display once per session.
[ 5865.413648] Run the Latency Test and resolve before continuing.
[ 5865.908219] 990: ERROR: Unexpected realtime delay: check dmesg for details.

Ubuntu 10.4 behaves differently than 8.04 ...

Did you create a new config or upgrade your 8.04 config as shown here? Assuming your old config was a 2.3.x config.

wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?UpdatingTo2.4

Did you check the latency on that computer after installing 10.04? I've seen some reports of 10.04 not running as well as 8.04 on older computers...

I have seen problems when people try and run a base thread with hostmot2.

Why do you need a base thread with hardware step generation?

From a question posted on the IRC this morning.

[11:50] <pcw_home> I don't think there's ever been a confirmed problem except in this circumstance:
[11:50] <pcw_home> 1. You are using the hardware stepgen
[11:50] <pcw_home> 2, And you have a base thread specified but unused

OK, thread base + HW stepgen I not use. (conflict with hosmot firmware)

But I tested the hardware stepgen EMC version 2.4.6 is OK.
The EMC version 2.5.0 is a bug. Again folloving error.
