I see big changes in the EMC2 Ubuntu 10.04,, thanks very good work developers. Not planning to use in path planning "JERK" as the professional system? It would be a great benefit to the EMC2 system.

Do you still have a bug if you actually use the base thread? (its unused in these examples)

I have observed this apparent problem but have not found the time to confirm.
This was with HW stepgen and no base thread specified.
I don't know when it happened exactly as my test mill had the following error setting fairly large.
i will try to check it out some more this weekend

Hi guys,
I have the same problem...
<join x following error>

I tested...
if servo_period < 1000000
that following errors is less

for example servo_period = only 60000 no following error

problem for EMC2 version > 2.5.x

Thx Martin

p.s. Sorry for my bad english :)

I tested and I can confirm the same behavior.

Folloving incidence of error is directly proportional to load the PC servo thread 1000000 size around an that causes the folloving error. Greater burden , around 60,000 and the system behaves better ... (!?!?)
Latency Test in Ubuntu 10.04, also has iniquities of the against the 8.04 ....( but it was not, do not know when it happened) in the early stages of transition to the 10.04-latency test showed excellent results. These Are Worse Now Several times.
Tested on version 2.5.0.

Vesrsion 2.4.6 is OK.

hmm right now I can not get my config to not follow error even with a servo period of 100000 ( I could not go as low as 60000 )
This is with ubuntu 8.04.
For reference i tried the sample hm2 stepper config and it follow errors too.
I have used my config to do some machining quite a while ago now i can not.
Something strange going on...
This is with no base period specified.

yes....
It is important that all my machines that works good in 8.04 does not work under 10.04
This is because bad latency (high jitter)
During this weekend I converted all my machines (4) from 8.04 on 10.04 and not one machine works good : (
Sorry, but that he has nobody noticed?
Thx Martin

I just upgrade recently...it runs smoothly with no issue: (Mine is IBM Thinkpad T40)

1. the ulimit thing, in 10.04 the pam does not load the limit library, so modification is not effective until the common-session in pam.d is modify to load that limit thing.
2. I added a "lapic" to kernel boot parameter, or the real time module can't even be loaded.

My boards:
GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L
ASUS P5K-E/WIFI AP + GEFORCE 8600GT

I run glxgears on fullscreen
and...

with Live-CD 8.04
Max. JItter < 10000

with Live-CD 10.04
Max. JItter > 60000

What can be badly for 10.04?
Help me please

Thx Martin
