lspci -v only lists pci and devices connected to the pci buss, your onboard parallel port may not be on the pci buss.
manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/intrepid/man8/lspci.8.html
dmesg after a fresh start will show the onboard parallel port.
Have you read this short intro to EMC?

I'm now halfway through the Integrators manual (had to take a break it's a bit mind numbing!)
I have another question, If parport is the module controlling the pins on the parallel port. Why does lspci -v show this
00:09.0 Communication controller: NetMos Technology PCI 9835 Multi-I/O Controller (rev 01)
Subsystem: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic Device 0012
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 16
I/O ports at b000
I/O ports at b400
I/O ports at b800
I/O ports at bc00
I/O ports at c000
I/O ports at c400
Kernel driver in use: parport_serial
Kernel modules: parport_serial
NOTICE that parport_serial is the module loaded.................Perhaps I'm grasping at straws here but I'm desperate!
I'm thinking of just building myself a new computer with a D510MO motherboard! but what if I have the same problem????

cat /proc/ioports
Anyway, perhaps now is the time to get down to basics.
Open 2 terminal windows, lets call then TA and TB
TA:
halrun
TB:
sudo dmesg -c
(dmesg -c clears the dmesg buffer, so you can see which messages come from which command)
TA:
loadrt hal_parport cfg="0x378 0xB800"
TB:
sudo dmesg -c
TA:
setp parport.0.pin-01-out 1
setp parport.1.pin-01-out 1
TB:
sudo dmesg -c
TA:
setp parport.0.pin-01-out 0
setp parport.1.pin-01-out 0
(and so on…)
