feed over ride is 100%

I tried ' sets spindle-at-speed 1, '

No change.

I've created a quick lathe profile with stepconf and the issue is the same there as well.

The file contains a G95.
That is feed-per-rev mode.

It's probably a good thing that it isn't feeding, 500 mm/rev would be a bit much.

You can't use G95 mode without spindle position feedback (ie, a spindle encoder).

Try changing G95 to G94 in the G-code.

That's interesting. Switching to G94 worked.

The only reason why I had F500 was to speed up the simulation.
I have been cutting metal with my machine in version 2.7 using G95 and F0.2

Something has change since the upgrade.

The spindle pin names have changed. But they should have been converted automatically.

I can't see any hint that the HAL file ever contained spindle speed / position feedback, so I don't see any way that G95 can have worked.

Do I need to trick the system into thinking its getting Feedback?

You could try connecting spindle.0.speed-in directly to spindle.0.speed-out-rps.

I am a bit lost in the various threads, but isn't this a Boxford CNC? It should have a spindle encoder fitted.

Yes it is a Boxford, but the old motor died and has a new Servo Motor arrangement so therfor has feedback.
I've run out of LPT inputs, and I'm being lazy in just trying to get this project finished without further complication.
It was supposed be be an easy project and a quick turn around but we discovered later that it was going to be a complete refit and has taken so far 9 months to get this far. I've lost enthusiasm with this particular project and just want it out the door, get paid, and move to the next one. Not the right thing to do, but I have a back log :(

A CNC lathe without threading is a very limited lathe, though.
