As i know only documentation available is this thread.
However if you read gladevcp docs and catch me on IRC i may guide you trough that process which may result in documentation :)

how did you guys manage to get the DRO showing on the camera image?

i know it has something to do with the emc.halio component however I dont seem to have it when I run camview

how can I get it ?

-edit-
i *think* I am on the process of figuring out how to make it with Glade. but gtg work now so it'll have to wait :(

Hi

You have to add it into the chain in camviewcfg

Don't think you ever said what version you are running.
Will not work with 8.04

Hi

I don't have camview-emc installed on my test machine any more and the workshop machines are 8.04

It looks like halio.so should be in /usr/lib/camunits

If it isn't, then get camunits-plugins-emc_0.0.6~lucid-i386.deb which contains it.

It should all be part of a standard install using psha's repository, I didn't have to download anything extra when I initially installed it to test the camera.

To quote his instructions page psha.org.ru/b/camview-emc.html

If you need extra functionality like DRO install camunits-plugins-emc.

ok found it... my bad didnt read the instruction manual :P

psha.org.ru/b/camview-emc.html

"If you need extra functionality like DRO install camunits-plugins-emc. It’s not available for Ubuntu 8.04 though. Also you may grab sources and build them yourself. But that’s not recommended since there are lot of dependencies and possible issues with plugin locations."

trying that now... thanks for you help ArcEye

when i tried doing sudo apt-get install camunits-plugins-emc it said something like dependency missing "emc-sim" or emc-fake something like that

i installed that, then installed camunits plugins and now linuxcnc is gone :(

Heh, i bet you've installed emc-sim? :)
emc-fake-sim is just a workaround ot provide one package for bot sim and rt installations
Just install emc2 back and you'll be fine
