First ATC parts came in. wooo. Really good machining and finishing.
Also working on an 8 tool ISO20 tool magazine. Can use the turret on iso20 sadly, but this will work well enough and still be very small and save a lot of money over hsk25
.

Great job. It just looks like a drawing :).
How much did it cost to make that blue part?

Blue part was I think $86cdn. The grippers were $25cdn each. Now that I have it in hand and see what they did, I can see some things I can change that should make it a little cheaper.

For example If you model impossible chamfers someone will hand file them right to the edge. We don't need none of that silliness. So I guess I need to either model accurately, or make a note "only cnc the chamfers as close as is reasonable"

Ove time I will bring all the small parts in house, but its pretty cool that i can affordably do one offs to start.

Well, that escalated quickly.

Got a servo coming tomorrow to test, it is the same as the stepper online ethercat model, except direct from the factory.

Anyone get the stepper online ethercat servos working nice with linuxcnc yet? I've seen a lot of chat around the lichuan, but not these.

Progress. I cut the end frames down from the old machine so chips don't build up at the ends of the rails. this lets me reduce the safety margins and I get about 310mm y travel now. Also made a new top plate for the Z which increases clearance 10mm, and ups the travel to 112mm. Much smaller than the new version, but we don't have that yet sooo :P

All squared up, few more mechanical things to do, and then a bit of electrical and getting linuxcnc to use modbus spindle control.
