I get a good enable signal, my PID settings are P:1 and all else 0 at the moment. I'm trying to setup a HAL with self-selected PWM commands.

What is the output of your PID function (you can probe it with Halmeter or Halscope) and what is the scale of your PWMGen? If the error term is small, and P is small and pwm scale is large, then you will see what you are seeing.

Thanks so much for all the help so far, I've been able to verify that the 7i33 works by giving the machine a ludicrous max following error.

Still working on this, I've gotten the Z axis working, but when I try and use either the X or Y axes, both move at Rapid Traverse until either a "Following Error" has been reached, or a "Soft Limit." They work perfectly if a 9v battery is applied to the DAC.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like the feedback is reversed. If the encoders work in the right direction for you, reverse the sign of the output-scale. If you are using the hm2-servo config, this would be in the 7i43-big.ini or 7i43-small.ini file

I tried that, no luck. The stock 7i43-4 profile at least runs the motors right, any chance someone could take a gander at my ini and hal files to see if there's anything glaring?

And the HAL, sorry if there was a way to get them in the same post.

Well if the stock config runs the motors right, then like I said, you have the output scale backwards on the axis that "run away" or maybe the fact that you have FF0 putting a full scale bias on the DAC outputs is the problem

Note that the stock config uses different output scales for different axis. You will have to find the correct (1 or -1) output scale for each of your axis. Another thing I noticed is that you have A FF0 value of 1. This is dead wrong, it should be 0 and is likely part of your problems.
Don't know if you set that or its a pncconf bug but it needs to be 0.

If the stock config works better why not start with it and modify to suit?

Sorry, I was wrong, FF0 is OK for velocity mode servos
but you still need to get the output scale correct for each axis
If you change the output scale in pncconf, you should verify that
it has been changed in the HAL file,
changing the sign of the output scale pretty much has to change the servo behaviour

(assuming the encoders work and the PID loops are wired up correctly in HAL)

I'm trying to compare the settings in the stock profile to those I've generated to see where the differences are.

I know the encoders are right, but I don't know anything about PID loops and that portion of the setup, to know where to go with those.

What is strange is that the same setup on the Z axis as compared to the X and Y axes works, while the other two do not.

Never mind, I had the X and Y axes DAC inputs swapped. (Dumb me.)

Thanks.
