No the field I\O is connected to smart serial ports.
So you wont see it unless you have a working config, or load hostmot2 driver via halcmd.
So you will need to run pcconf to produce a workingish config then run Linuxcnc with the config you created.
You may want to read the hm2_pci, hostmot2 & sserial man pages which are available through the documentation on the www.llinuxcnc.org page. The devs have spent a lot of time putting the docs together.

Just do a little bit at a time.
But pcconf will be give a basic working config, that what it was designed for.
