Installing second parallel port

Installing second parallel port was created by john11668
Right ! so next problem ( there is always another )
Have tried to follow this guys advice even though he does not seem to be brimming with confidence
So I go to the lspci -vv command and open a get something not a lot different to him but no clear parallel port in the screed
have tried adding a couple options into my hal file saved , then opened gmocappy
In one case come up with a screen which barrs the reset button so went back to original
In second case it comes up with parallel port not found at 1012

Can anyone see from this what I need to add to my hal in order for my second parallel port to be seen by EMC
