So did try my PCI card in the next slot
lspci now seems to see a parallel device
Sudo cat etc
So doesnt look like this has taken me forward at all
Unless you guys see any different.
Have tried a couple of local workshops for PCI/par cards but no joy there
Gonna contact a local outfit who do one armed bandits and games machines but no luck getting hold of them yet.
Have explored the joystick controller card route and there do seem to be a lot of options . Suggestions for a good (proven one would help.
I had thought that Linux was not happy with USB, but I suppose it is just another keyboard
