Yes. Look at the jog-speed and jog-plus/minus pins in halui

This thread is seriously lacking in photos The Weiler E30 is a really tasty machine. Please post some pictures of it and what you are doing.

I've never missed an episode on your machine conversion too!
There are two kind of lathes I was dreaming to have one of them: a schaublin like you have and a weiler e30.
Weiler was on the first place in my preferences list! I was lucky enough to get one exacly like I was dreaming about!
Here is the only relevant video that I have. My camera died in the meantime and the priority was not the recording equipment.
I am now working on a custom version of linuxcnc UI that will allow me to add all the features I want on this machine!

Any idea if using jog-plus/minus does that jogging changes the task mode to one of these two? MODE_MDI, MODE_AUTO,
Or if it remains in MODE_MANUAL.
In mode MODE_MANUAL the jog wheels are still active, and I would not want that while "power feeding".

I also identified the Weiler E30 as one of my dream lathes.
You are in good company:
I never saw an E30 in person, so I really had no clue of the actual size. I thought it was bigger than the Schaublin 125, but it does have a bigger swing. Your E30 looks like it has not done much work, and was well looked after. I subscribed, and look forward to your updates.
Will be interesting to follow your GUI development. I am a big fan of Gmoccapy. I think Norbert really understands efficient workflow.
By the way, most of the monitors of that generatation were CGA, and you can get a CGA-->VGA frequency doubler on Ebay dirt cheap, as the are needed to upgrade the monitors of old arcade games.
search "cga vga adapter"
There are plenty of good 7" open frame monitors for Raspberry pi, (ebay#202161984307 for example).
Shame, I threw out an 800x600, little 7" LCD monitor just a few months ago.
You also made a really nice job of that mill user interface you did.

The UI that I am building will have the same UI flows like a sinumerik, except that I am using a touch screen so I can take advantages of having all kinds of controls exactly where I need them.
I also liked gmoccapy, but this machine had some features nicely made for using this as a manual lathe.
Also it had the ability of powerfeeding when moving the joystick, and that was not done in jog mode, because the jog handles were disabled while it was power feeding.
One of this was taper/chamfer turning. I was just selecting taper turning, specifying which is the angle and when the spindle was on, if I was pushing the joystick towards x-, it would start making a chamfer at that angle feeding towards x- at that specific angle.
When I was changing the lever towards x+, it was changing the direction.
By making my own UI, I can achieve all those functionalities + the ability to have conversational exactly as I want it. Ofcourse, all this takes LOOTS of time...
But I am building this with the capabilities of this machine in mind, trying to achieve all it could do!
I will add some pics when I have something to show about the UI.

My friend has a 125-CCN with a Fanuc control, which also has features like that. If he sets it to cut a taper, he only needs to rotate the Z axis handwheel, and it will feed along the taper. As you are a programmer, I am sure you will create an excellent interface.

You can have that feature on your machine too, that can be done in python too, as an extension to gmoccapy.
And btw, my machine has 18.000 on time hours. Which means 10 years of 8hrs/day
For a machine built in 1993, I am very satisfied on how it looks and sounds.
I really appreciate your discipline with creating youtube content...I tried sticking to it but unfortunately it takes too much time with all the video editing involved...

I think that I have used a LinuxCNC-converted Weiler lathe. And it might even have been an E30.
This was at a LinuxCNC - fest in Stuttgart. Back in the old days before the plague struck.
