the 7i77 converts pwm to analog output. so thats what you want.

Thanks for these rapid responses. Since I have the 6 encoders on the 7i77, do I no longer have extra pins for use as the PWM outputs? I don't see any available pins on I/O connector 3 offering analog or PWM output. I don't see any on connector 2 either for that matter.

you should have some smart serial tabs look at sserial tab 1

I should note that "number of PWM generators" is set to 0 and greyed out so I can't adjust it.

hmmm well you got me there!
on the configuration tab you have
7i77x2
12 encoder
1 smartserial port and 6 channels
and you pressed 'accept component changes button' ?

yes either one should work 6 / 3 is what you actually want for using just one 7i77.
can you open a terminal and type pncconf and try again ? it may give an error message or something...
