Question to you Andy.
How can I get following to work.
Lets say I have a gcode file to run with Sxxxx and start running the file..
How can this be done so that when NOT in reqd gear M3 goes to directly to M5 and only starts spindle when i reqd gear?

Manually setting S in MDI and start/stop spindle from screen buttons (gmoccapy)
If I have the correct gear set spindle starts = all OK
If in wrong gear I get message that says what gear to be set, but now M3 stays active and it is this I want to avoid. If I change gears now spindle will start as soon as gear inputs go active and this can cause gears to crash or harm the operator.
So if in wrong gear I want M5 to be applied and then change gears and issue M3 again as it now safe to start spindle.
So this should work in MDI and if running gcode file the file needs to be rewinded and started once again when gears are set correctly..
I hope I explain this clear.
Cheers

Maybe re-map M3 and M4 to only actually turn on the spindle if the gear is correct.

That sounds to be the way to go, is there something to be added to the comp?
How is the remapping done?
Did have a glance linuxcnc.org/docs/html/remap/remap.html and I donĀ“t understand how this works.

I assume this can only be done in master, right? I am still on 2.7.14
