5i25 + 7i73
Is the 7I44 connected to P2 (top 5I24 connector)?
Is the 5I24 set to supply 5V power to the 7I44?

Now one of the 7i33 is recognized, but led stil staying at red color.
.
I'm confused by the manual. For me, description of W2, W5 and W8 sounds quite the same as for W1, W3 and W6 - so I left all jumpers unchanged. Is the 5I24 set to supply 5V power to the 7I44?
But - I changed the jumpers of daughter boards to use external power, which I provided
As one of the 7i33 is recognized, I have to check/change the other patch cables.
Here's the new output of hal
Where do I change/select the hardware-/software mode of 7i73?
I'd like to use Hardware Mode 4 and Software Mode 1 or 2 (can't see any difference).
Readout from hm2_5i24 IO-Pin 069 says TxEn6 - does that mean, that each 7i73 has an enable pin?
Is that on 7i44 only, or is that routed through Ethernet cable too?
... and again my question: is there a bitfile with more stepper support for the 7i47?

You will not get a green light on the 7I73 until you addf the read/write functions to a thread and start the thread

I see. So the In/Out direction of the RS-422 is fix. Right? The maximum number of step/dir channels on a 7I47 would be 6 (on the 12 TX channels)
Seems like I need another 7i47 ...
What about Siko magnetic encoders - do you know that system?
The encoder-head supports two different protocols, one A/B like standard encoders (but less exact) and then a serial protocol, which provides the absolute position data.
I'd like to use that serial protocol - is it possible with the RX-channels of a 7i47?

Depends on the serial protocol, Hostmot2 currently supports 3 absolute encoder formats:
FANUC
SSI
BISS

Is it necessary to flash a new bitfile to get support for i.e. SSI or is SSI a software protocol, that runs with the standard encoder channels?

and - does it work with a 7i47 or do I need another daughter?

(so 7I35,7I44,7I47,7I52 etc)

So I can buy another 7i47 to get the number of stepper drivers I was looking for and will be fine for the encoders some day?
