More than once. Changed baudrate, parity as well. Allways the same - cant read data from vfd.

If it works with windows 10 it is a question of usb permissions, if you look in the forum you will find how to do it

I guess linux would say that? If I can run USB drive, write, read data, doesnt that say I have permission?
Same for running commands like loadusr -W hy_vfd - d /dev/ttyUSB0
 

real. I have seen that debian sometimes according to the language and country that it is configured strange problems come out. try to install it without modifying anything, i had a strange problem with qtplasmac i put english language and it works fine.

Reinstalled wheezy, didnt update to 2.8. Same error reading setup from VFD

come to think of it i mint 19.3 ... but it also went with wheezy. you can follow the guide here and give it a try.
