None of that worked. I am tired of messing with the pci card. I am looking for a Dell with a built in parallel port.

Hang on, you have already proved that the parallel port is working. Switching parallel ports now just takes you right back to the beginning.

You should definitely be able to see the direction pin changing state with a voltmeter at this point.

not sure what to check next.

As a starting point, can you see the direction pin changing voltage, with a voltmeter, when you jog left then right?

Yes, and see if they match what HAL says it is doing with the pins.
Follow the signals from BoB input to BoB output to the drives.

How do I check BoB input?

Maybe on the back of the PCB if you can't see any exposed pins on the top.

You kind of already have tested one of them pin 10 with your e-stop.

Depending whether you have them configured for pull up or pull down, connect them to ground or 5v, and watch for the indicator to change in Linuxcnc.

Then you would connect them to ground.

Something else you might be able to try, is connecting a wire from your step/dir output pins to input pins (disconnect them from the drive first). Then check to see if you can see the input being triggered by the output in Linuxcnc.
