Elroy,
Do you need 64 bit?
If not I would reinstall using a 32bit Linux mint Mate edition.
Seems you installed something different than what was required. Being new will be difficult to install 64bit stuff.
I assume you are at the stage of building 64bit LinuxCNC?
If you wish to continue 64bit then the dependencies you will need for gnomelibprintui are located on the first post. It's the official ubuntu mirror - kernel.org
You will have to enable this repository source to find the missing dependencies.
However with what you have shown I think a reinstall is in order. Less frustrating that way. But 32 bit is very easy to install.
Also the only really drawback to 32 bit is applications only able to access 4gb of memory. Which is plenty.
Edit: noticed you were not in the LinuxCNC-dev directory when you ran dpkg-checkbuilddeps
Try again please in the linuxcnc-dev directory.

Yes that is 32bit.
These are the dependencies that you need? That is typical for 64bit not 32bit.
I'll run a recompile in the morning to see what is going on. Perhaps something has changed?
Did you run a dist-upgrade or a apt-get update?
The 32bit dependencies have been available .. perhaps removed?
I'll get back with you tomorrow after work. I'll help you get going.
Is this a fresh install of mint?
Unmet build dependencies: libgnomeprintui2.2-dev python-support tcl8.4-dev tk8.4-dev

I got my linuxcnc.deb file and got it installed.
Now I have other problems. :/
Anyways, Thanks Cncnoob for providing so much support to enable me to get here.
