Is it with Mesa 7I95 support? I did not specify it before, but i need RIP to be able to patch it for 7I95 support
I've asked why it hasn't been included in the 2.8 branch as it has been included in the 2.9 branch. If it is possible, I'll ask if it can and if it can and the devs put it into 2.8 I will make new packages asap.
For the time being run with a RIP install and we will see how we go.
Cheers
Rob

I was just wondering if anyone has tried updating Linuxcnc on their Mint boxes with the repos mentioned at the start of this thread ?
Everything seems ok at my end, just wanting to know if it works, kinda works or it doesn't.
I'm slowly working through the build process with python3 for v2.9.......build i seems to go ok but I'm getting 4 failed tests.

Rob. I have used the iso on the front page. It loaded for me without issue. Thanks.

Did you install it and attempt to update the Linuxcnc packages ?
Yes I ran sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.
I have just run the above again and it ran fine.

Rob. I might be wrong be I have seen a small problem .
If you try to copy a launcher or a folder to the desktop it can't be seen on the desktop.
But if you then navigate to the desktop with the file explorer, you can see them. Upon exiting the file explorer they appear on the desktop.
I used the iso file 2 days ago then did the update and dist-upgrade. The monitor I am using is 4-3
I wonder if it is putting them of a different workspace ?

That kind of issue would be a desktop environment issue and should happen with a install done with an original Mint ISO.

Hmmm I've tried to do it by a number of methods, right clicking and sending to desktop. Copying folder and then pasting onto desktop and copying file and pasting onto desktop folder and can't seem to replicate this issue.

Rob I have switched it on this morning and it all seems fine. I was going to re install and document the steps to try and figure out where it went wrong..
The iso installed very quickly then did the update etc. then I copied a plasmac config fold over and had to run Phill's configurator to get the sim links back which went well. So Mr Murphy might have been at play.
Before it was acting as if the files were hidden on the desktop
Thanks for the sanity check
