Hi

Just tried with fresh official debian 32bits using the guide and sdcard
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/getting-start...lling_on_raspbian_10

After rebooting on the 6e step, no more usb no keyboard/touchscreen.

only using apt-get update

For Which model raspberry , what eeprom version and also the kernel version used?

I have never had any problem with that model running the LinuxCNC image...

Anyway, I have built a new SD card image, and kicked off the build of a second with the memory limit.
I did plan to put them both on the server for testing, but something has come up here and I am going to be away from my computers for a few days.

I never get problem before, but from some time i get no more usb as you can see after installing kernel on official debian, or after apt-get upgrad with your image.

Maybe this is because i have updated the boot eeprom, i really do not know why but for sure i get usb problem recently with this old model.

Many thanks for the work done, I hope to you nothing bad is happened !

There is a new SD card image here:

www.linuxcnc.org/temp/image_2021-01-20-linuxcnc-pi4-3G.zip

It works for me on an old Pi4 4GB and a new Pi4 2GB. Both as a fresh install and after apt-get update / apt-get upgrade.

I would appreciate it if owners of new 4GB Pi, 8GB Pi and Pi3 could test it and report back.

I tried on my Pi4 8Gb, USB works, unfortunately wlan does not work. With the released LinuxCNC 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 images for Pi I had no problems with wlan, but USB did not work. Is there any specific info from logfiles or output from network commands you want me to post here ?

I see the same issue with my Pi400.
At least there is a workaround for Wlan, you can use ethernet or a plug-in WiFi dongle.

With the released LinuxCNC 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 images for Pi I had no problems with wlan, but USB did not work.

How could you tell that WiFi worked without USB to cycle through the setup and type in passwords?

I have the same problem with wlan.

I think I had problems with wlan in December, but I thought it was a bad wifi-router. USB probably worked for me at the time, but not wlan.

I wanted an RPI4 + mesa 7i96 to drive the lathe, but the RPI was so slow, so I didn't use it and used a desktop computer. That's why I wasn't interested in wifi. Then I wanted to find out in January why RPI4 + mesa 7i96 was unusable, but there was a problem with USB that blocked my entire RPI4.

My chromium browser didn't work. I reinstalled it, but it didn't help. That's why I installed firefox-esr
