MESA 7i92TH to power an OmioCNC 3040 LPT system ; which firmware ?

Category: Driver Boards

PWM going into an analog converter indeed

Current config is like this

net spindle-cmd-rpm => pwmgen.0.value
net spindle-on <= spindle.0.on => pwmgen.0.enable
net spindle-pwm <= pwmgen.0.pwm
setp pwmgen.0.pwm-freq 2000.0
setp pwmgen.0.scale 22800.0
setp pwmgen.0.offset -0.0710526315789
setp pwmgen.0.dither-pwm true
net spindle-cmd-rpm     <= spindle.0.speed-out
net spindle-cmd-rpm-abs <= spindle.0.speed-out-abs
net spindle-cmd-rps     <= spindle.0.speed-out-rps
net spindle-cmd-rps-abs <= spindle.0.speed-out-rps-abs
net spindle-at-speed    => spindle.0.at-speed
net spindle-cw <= spindle.0.forward

I went the same way but without success. I combined my working files (Beckhoff modules are working as they should) with the ones from MobiusToast. No error on startup but unfortunately no possibility to jog the axis as well. forum.linuxcnc.org/ethercat/54965-steppe...ervo?start=40#329744

After having a functional setup for my Beckhoff modules I tried to combine my files withe the ones from MobiusToast to tryout the settings for one of my servos. He mentioned that the files are working for him an that the one axis would at least be moveable.
Surprisingly I have no errors when starting but the servo stays in PreOP and the axis or the motor is doing nothing when jogging the axis.
What could be missing or what could be my mistake(s)?

17 VFD spindle PWM (0-2000Hz)

Is this PWM (for a PWM --> analog converter)

or a rate (0 to 2000Hz frequency output)

Reading variable from ini no longer works?

Hello,

In my view, not necessarily the best idea.
For my part, I felt very useful and pleasant to comment.
It works in other places too.
And I also see no problem that everything that comes after a double cross is simply a comment if it is in the same line. The possibility of creating extra comments lines remains.
The only thing I can think of is that I recently edited the INI and because the comments could have inserted without switching on the milling machine, I can't think of anything else.

What I really miss is an understandable change overview between really every single versions or the place where I find something.

This has done the problem.
Sorry for the sometimes unhappy choice of Google translator, my modest English is even worse.

All the best and best regards, Frank

Feature Request: ramp piercing (aka moving piercing)

Category: Plasmac

Sorry to post on a old topic but I wanted to see if this functionality was in qtplasmac in the 2.9.4 install or if you need to be running from the 2.10 master?  Also, has anyone done moving piercing in Fusion360 CAM?

Forget the pots, you can do without them, might need adding a home switch.
And also open the possibility of working with roll's of material, meaning not being limited to a certain length.

Do the motors have tachometers connected to the drives?
(these are needed for velocity mode)

MESA 7i92TH to power an OmioCNC 3040 LPT system ; which firmware ?

Category: Driver Boards

I'm trying to convert my cheap 3040 router with an LPT card to connect to LinuxCNC using a Mesa 7i92TH
Current LPT pinout is :

1 VFD spindle on (CW) , using a small relay
2 X step
3 X dir
4 Y step
5 Y dir
6 Z step
7 Z dir
11 X home in
12 Y home in
13 Z home in
15 probe in
17 VFD spindle PWM (0-2000Hz)

If I read the documentation ( 7i92tman.pdf ) correct the PROB_RFX2D would match it almost perfect , but that file is not in the ti92t.zip from the Mesa website. Which firmware am I best off to use ?

Hello got everything up and running the machine will home. I keep getting the same error and I’m not able to run a program. I am not skilled at writing G code, but hopefully this is a quick fix. Any assistance is greatly appreciated

Unable to open file <135>

In line 39 of the referenced G-code file it looks ike there is a command to call a subroutine. That hasn't been found in the current file, so it is looking for it ina separate file of the same name.

At a guess (and this is a complete guess) you may be running the cooper_groove_master_2B.ngc  file from a backup location ("Old to Hold") and the referenced subroutine file may not exist in that location.

Have a look around line 39 (might not be _exactly_ line 39 for a reference to <135> and see what it is looking for, and if that exists elsewhere.

i have struggled to find out what "mode" my drivers run in. as far as i can tell there is no option to choose between the torque or velocity.

My drivers are Advanced Motion Control (branded as Precision Valve & Automation) B12A6F-PV2. i have not been able to track down any manual or documentation for this specific drive, but i do have a general setup guide from AMC which covers this era of hardware and gives me some idea of how to operate it.

www.a-m-c.com/wp-content/uploads/support...ual_Analog_Panel.pdf

However in re reading the above documentation i think the dip switch labeled "open loop" on my drive (which is switched off) is the mode change switch, with "open loop" being velocity, and the alternative being torque. Pages 14 - 16 have the modes of operation, but my drives do not have all those options. below is an image of what i have showing the pots and the dip switches.
