How do i purchase Mesa motion controllers in India?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Have a look at the Mesa website, they have a list of international dealers. I would take any recommendations from Mesa as gospel.

RPi 4B w/LinuxCNC 2.9.3, Mesa 7C81, Isolation Card, PWM Card, Relay Card, More

Out of interest, apart from the speed increase on the 7c81 side that would be mitigated by the off board level shifting, what was the the thoughts in that decision. I just went with on board level shifting on my "roll my own" 7c81 board, tho it can run other configs and not just hostmot2 firmware.

How do i purchase Mesa motion controllers in India?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy Mesa motion control boards in India for use with LinuxCNC. Does anyone know of reliable suppliers, distributors, or online stores where I can purchase them?
Any leads would be really helpful!

I am aware that the default jumper is for 5v tolerant. My preference was for setting it to native 3.3v and adding level shifting drivers between the 7C81 and the other components.

Depending on the way you jumper the 7c81, 3v - 5v translation isn't required as the 7c81 provides level shifting, hence the reason $5 chinese BoBs can plug directly into the 7c81, the 7i92 series are the same as well.

CNC lathe retrofitt - Feeler FTC-280

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hello i have a Feeler Ftc-280 which im currently retrofitting from its fanuc OT controller to a ethercat system. Some specifications so you know what im working with: 11kw fanuc main spindle (i will run it on a regular vfd with modbus ), 1.2kw x axis servo, 1.8kw z axis servo, 2.2kw hydraulic pump (for driving the turret, tailstock, probe arm, parts catcher and chuck). It´s a quite rigid machine weighing 5 tons with some 50mm thk ballscrews. I have purschased most electronis and have gotten the lichuan servo motors and beckhoff devices up and running. I already bought a raspberry pi so i will not be able use probe basic. Is there another nice gui for lathes?

ok so to me it looks like a simple photo coupler digital output. That said I don't know how your system is
put together. I use Mesa boards for control when Linuxcnc is involved. With that said I can only give
a general direction. If it were me I would wire the photo coupler output into an input pin, go through the
linuxcnc 2.9 manual (section 11.3.2) use the pause / resume example and test from there. When I
was first starting out with Linuxcnc I would set up multiple different profiles for the same machine
then add one or 2 things in to see how pncconf or stepconf would write the connections and play
around with it from there.

Parse Error

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

I am having virtually the same problem, but with a twist. Using the qtvcp gcode_graphics widget, which uses qt5_graphics, I can load any .ngc file with any tool number no problem. However, when the display is a VTK render window, any ngc file that specifies a tool greater than 9 causes a gcode interp error. For example, if line 3 in the ngc file contains:
G21 G40 G49 G64 P0.03 M6 T1
it works fine. If I change the line to:
G21 G40 G49 G64 P0.03 M6 T13
it throws:
!!!interp_error=1 result=2 last_sequence_number=3
I looked for the reason in gcodemodule.cc but C++ is beyond my brain capacity.
BTW, T13 is a valid tool. If I specify an invalid tool, so long as it's less than 10, it only throws a tool not found in tool table error, which is perfectly normal. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
