Caught up on my education last night. skunkworks video is a revelation.
Understanding how to use the halcmd, and halmeter to choose correct hal syntax and then use halmeter to confirm what you've written works was just fantastic.
So much so, that I think my estop circuit problem may be a 7i77D versus 7i77 issue.
Mine is supposedly a 7i77D, but when an output terminal is true, it outputs 24volts, where I was expecting it to sink.

Dear LinuxCNC community!
We purchased a second hand CNC router from BZT  and it came with a CNC control from EdingCNC and an Ethernet-based control card called CPU5A4E . Since would like to avoid redoing all the wiring and the general concept of the CNC control seems to be quite similar yet I really appreciate the functionality and expandability of LinuxCNC I was wondering if the CPU5A4E can be used with LinuxCNC. Did anyone try this?

you provided too little info.
It seems like you need to increase precisison of the generated g-code or decrease required precision in qtplasmac

I do not really understand. If I flash another bit file (obviously it has two pwm gen) it shows four lines. (that is not a fix, because I wanted to use a stepgen on pin4 and Pin17)

Is there something missing? I would have expected something like:

p.s. Do I understand it right that the gpio.008 is not predefined connected for this pwmgen, but could have been used for something else as well?
I am still curious if the tags in the firmware would change anything in terms of use.

Now I put folllowing lines in the .hal (particular unsecure if the setp is what is to be done)

setp hm2_5i25.0.gpio.008.is_output 1
net spindle-ccw spindle.0.reverse => hm2_5i25.0.gpio.008.out

That switches the polarity on the TB3 pin4 and TB3 pin5, that again changes the direction of the motor.

Do not fully understand why it does not switch between 0 and 4.9V. It switches between -4.9V and 4.9V.

Thanks for your suggestion, as its working properly, I am able to run both Z axis perfectly. 

Cleaning almost complete.
Now I will clean each sub assembly, replace the bearings.

Thanks very much, for both the efforts you have put into this project, as well as looking at my Modbus issue. If you can PM me your postal address, I would be more than happy to send you one of the Modbus boards to use as a test.

I got the tangbob boards made and assembled by JLPCB for approx $100 for 10 boards plus freight - I live in North Queensland, Australia. They did quite a good job. I had to supply and place the tang board and the wiznet board myself.
