Sheetcam M 190

Category: Deutsch

You should set your materials up in sheetcam with your feedrates and import them to QTplasmac with the provided script. It used to be called materialverter but check the docs.

Use the Plasmac post processor in sheetcam and edit it to use the Plasmac tools at the top of the file.

Sheetcam will just send the tool number to  qtplasmac which you want. The tool number in sheetcam and qtplasmac must agree.

Look like glade is unable to find the LinuxCNC specific widgets.
If you are on a locally built installation (RIP) then you need to setup the environment before starting glade:

source <your_linuxcncdir>/scripts/rip-environment
glade

If you are running a package installation (eg if you have installed linuxcnc from an .ISO or from the package manager ) you need to point glade to the linuxcnc specific glade widget library.
I'm not familiar with this setup but maybe this post helps:
forum.linuxcnc.org/48-gladevcp/48438-how...-glade-folder#266531

[edit]
I just checked on a new debian bookworm installation with linuxcnc installed from the package manager and all that was required was 'sudo apt install glade' to install glade. The widgets are found no problem.

On a locally built (RIP) installation open a terminal and navigate to your linuxcnc installation folder:
source scripts/rip-environment

then to start glade:
[code]glade

once glade has started, check if the linuxcnc glade widgets have been imported (ie widgets named 'HAL_....')
[/code]

I have LinuxCNC 2.9.3 Debian 12 Bookworm PREEMPT-RT ISO , and when i start glade some messages appears.
Then when I open gmoccapy.glade file it looks like widgets are not imported.
Aciera could you help?

Help Needed: Cracking the Code on LinuxCNC Servo Homing Setup!

Category: EtherCAT

Hi Paul,
I could not run with el8_homecomp. I can run with cia402_homecomp of rodw.
I tested with both Leadshine + JMC:
- Homing is ok. But speed is too fast.
- HM (homing mode): not switching to, and of course "opmode" is still 8
- I set homing velocity: 6099-01h and 6099-02h to reduce homing speed, but not effective

Barfeeder controller upgrade for citizen L32 turning center

Category: Turning

2. If I am to completely remove the controller and replace it with a mesa card and linuxcnc controller, is there something the interconnects the bar feeder controller with the lathe's controller(Citizen CM2-PC805-0)?

When you say 'remove the controller and replace it with a mesa card and linuxcnc' I presume you are talking about the controller for the bar feeder. If that is the case then you would need to know what kind of interface signals the lathes Citizen controller uses to communicate with the bar feeder. My guess would be some kind of serial interface like Modbus or Profibus. That would be the first thing to check.

[edit]
This seems to be a Modbus Slave HAL module for LinuxCNC but information is rather scarce:

Py3 - Probe Basic Config Conversion Doc Lcnc 2.9+

Category: QtPyVCP

I wonder, would it make sense to have a custom tab collection? So give less experienced users (like me) a place to start?

So far I have some which might help others:

one for my manual gearbox on the lathe,
a custom jog tab so the vcp and the hand wheel share the increments.

and I want to make one for the setup sheet with some basic calculation functions to ease setting the WCS when not using a probe

Barfeeder controller upgrade for citizen L32 turning center

Category: Turning

Hello,

I have a swiss type lathe with IEMCA Boss 332r bar feeder. Something jammed during operation and the bar pusher motor got burnt. It is a 165 VDC servo system (ELMO CLA6/200CD DC drive with motor power company T85.TR3,2 BLDC) controlled by a Arteco SU310 single axis PLC. Spare parts were almost impossible to find and so I decided to change the servo system to one of modern Fuji alpha smart 5 AC servo since the old servo ran on analog voltage controls from the PLC, I thought, the new system fits right in if I supply alternating current to the new drive.

It turned out to be more complex because the PLC isn't giving proper analog signals(remains within 0.25 volts)
Contacted many PLC programmers around but nobody deals with the make of PLC I have. Tried contacting the makers and there's been no reply so far.
I have to options and need help with it:
1. If someone has any information on Programming and flashing the PLC mentioned above, that will be very helpful.
2. If I am to completely remove the controller and replace it with a mesa card and linuxcnc controller, is there something the interconnects the bar feeder controller with the lathe's controller(Citizen CM2-PC805-0)?

If you add numbered parameters to your .var file, the added variable numbers should become persistent.

[edit]

www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/gcode/overvie...:numbered-parameters

As an example if you want parameter #1000 to be persistent you would add this line to the top of your .var file (mind the <tab> in between the two numbers and make sure LinuxCNC is not running when you modify the file):
1000    0.0
