7i37-COM

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

I'm looking for a 7i37-COM. Does anyone have one to spare, or is there any way to get a replacement?
Can the old card be repaired? Are there still spare parts available? My old card had a short circuit.

Few ways of doing this.

The way I handled it on a 4th axis plasma build was with a magnet on the rotary and a hall effect sensor sensor to read it. Then sending the rotary back to 0 at the end of the gcode via the post processor.

It's not fool proof (power failures) but it works well enough as I just drive past the home switch then home again the one in 1000 times I have a power failure during running

Could use a 3d printed gear reducer to get a 1:4 rotation and put the sensor on that....so 720 turns into 180.

qtvcp

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Help me solve the problem. When creating a panel in qt and embedding it in linuxcnc, a window constantly pops up with the inscription: Qtvcp encountered an error; No handler file was found.
Would you like to copy a basic handler file into your config folder?
This handler file will allow display of your screen and basic keyboard jogging. This happens every time I launch my configuration.

Unwinding Rotary Axis for Homing

I've considered picking up an absolute encoder for it. I already had the servos, so I was just trying to use them up. Each axis has a 100:1 harmonic reducer that's belt driven. The belts made the package a bit smaller and allowed me to route the cables through the center of the gear reducers. I'm not concerned about unwinding during a program. I just don't want to shut down the machine at say 400deg and then add another 320deg by always homing in the same direction.

I've got a half baked solution in mind. A while back I made a tool changer and spindle homing procedure from the home all button by calling a halui mdi command and then using g code and I think I might be able to do something similar for this.

Here's the file for the head assembly. It's a fusion archive, so hopefully it included all the components properly. If you want a different format just let me know.

Not sure what the issue is, it works for me:

Built a 7I96S bitfile, flashed to 7I96S and ran it with LinuxCNC

( This is on Mint 20.3 = Ubuntu 20.04, Efinity 25.1 patched with the July 24,2025 patch )

Hi,

i've got the AX5106 and A5203 up and running. db1981 helped al lot regarding the homing and pos_mode issues.
The project itself is still work in progress, but the main features are working. See attached files. These are the relevant snippets from *.hal: [..]

Hi deedee: Are the referenced ax5206.xml and ax5203.xml in the ethercat-config.xml the files attached or are they different ones?

started a proper configurator tool in python, early version, if you want to try it clone the test repository.
early sample, most of the functions are not working yet, you can move the components by grab it, make connections by click the pin and click to another pin, and delete the connections using the list in the right side and the "Del conn" button.
git clone -b test https://github.com/atrex66/stepper-ninja.git
sudo apt install python3-pygame
cd stepper-ninja/configurations/configurator
python3 configurator.py

I tried efinity 2025.1.When I try to open the project seveni96s.xml i get the error:

The previous synthesis run has failed. To avoid potential problems or unreliable data, please run it again.

I click O then I get the message:
The family or device maybe invalid. Click OK to proceed with default family and device. Click Cancel to close project and abort.

Then I click OK the next message:
Encounter internal error. Please get help from support team

What does this all mean ? Do I have to choose a family or device first ?
I`m working on xubuntu 24.04

Do you have any suggestions ?
