Bringing this back up as I'm striking out with Tormach. Their response when I asked if they'd be supporting the new cards was basically "we only support the card we sell on our website", which the best I can tell is just a 7i92 in a fancy enclosure....that they sell for 3x the price of a Unless they have an absolute ton of those on hand, I would assume they're going to have to write in support for the T cards soon than later.

So I'm stuck trying force the T card to work, or spending another $300+ on the "correct" card from Tormach an then I'm stuck with the $130 t card that I really don't have a use for. Entirely my fault for not doing the research, but still annoying.

So what would it take for an idiot that can barely make his way through linuxcnc to learn how to write the firmware, disable the PP update script, etc. and make this work? Is there anyone in the community that does this kind of thing for a little beer money?

@PatJac let us know the result you can get with the RK3399 board

Did not even succeded at installing the img...second try ,re sha checking now the one i got...
no go ,it's corrupted somehow .
A minimal img would be fine, less prone to those 5+Gb img corruption..
or tar.gz the huge thing .
I will give it another go .

Looking at Mesa's site, I can't tell the difference between the 7i92 and the 7i92m. The specs look identical so i would assume the M would work.

I'm looking at options to "trick" pathpilot in to using the T card, but it's a bit over my head so I'd much rather get something that just works.

[OT] Frage zu Spannzangen und Eigenbau-Werkzeug

Category: Deutsch

Error when compiling and installing custom kinematics

Category: HAL

While the 'halcompile' tool usually works for most things it is sometimes necessary to compile from source with all build dependencies installed.
So I would suggest to clone the git repo and do a run-in-place (rip) install by building linuxcnc on your local machine.

N/O Probe issue

You may have more than one issue.

First the polarity needs to be correct
( set it so the Halshow dot goes yellow when the probe is activated)

In addition, it's possible you have a noise issue. This may be fixable
by de-bouncing the pin, either in hal of by installing firmware with input
filtering (7i96_inmd.bit) and using the inm pin instead of the GPIO pin.

Drawbar springs?

I can't tell from the diagram you had in the vid, but it looks (and sounds) like the hydraulic DB is a spring return system - I thought I only heard the pump loading up during release.

And DB springs are consumables...

Easy enough to pull the DB and have a look at the springs (if I'm right) before fully digging in to bearings.

How many outputs do you need?

A 7I97T may work (and if more outputs were needed a 7I84U could be added)
Should have a 7I77U (Universal outputs) available but about middle next year

Error when compiling and installing custom kinematics

Category: HAL

Hello all,
I am trying to compile with the command "halcompile -- install <5axiskins.c>" a custom kinematics modifying a function of the original 5axiskins.c
but i get this error

emc@emc:~/Desktop/5axiskins$ sudo halcompile --install 5axiskins.c
Compiling realtime 5axiskins.c
Linking 5axiskins.so
/usr/bin/ld:5axiskins.ver:2: syntax error in VERSION script
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [/usr/share/linuxcnc/Makefile.modinc:125: 5axiskins.so] Error 1

I need it to modify the PmCartesian s2r function to calculate the axis compensation.

Someone can help me to do it?

Hi,

Did some work on the super imposed interpreter code again.

It's now able to do more things like : stop, restart at line, set variable at runtime.

The video show's basic functionality. And show how sub interpreters may run their own program.

There is a machine-consume button, wich simulates the motion planner takes lines of gcode from the interpreter output buffer.
The delay input's slow's down the simulation wich enables us to view the step's the interpreter does.

Have to make the qt layout more fancy.
