First time linux cnc user - no stepper movement.

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

The critical one would be the "Step-On time" parameter

What would it take to get the drive ethercat enabled with either microchip lan9252b or with beckhoff ek1100 as an add-on?

Would there be enough interest to take on this sort of a project?

I know that lan9252b is available in a QFP form factor but it may not be the best for a servo drive for throughput over SPI.

Would be great to hear opinions..

The single ended vs differential option is only an electrical interface setting
Its not related to the count scaling at all.

Normally you use 4X quadrature which means you get 4X the number of counts
as the number of lines. That is if the scale has 200 lines per mm, the scale would
be set for 800 (counts per mm)

Not sure, so i can not reply, sorry.
One thing though, "differential" and "single ended" are terms used for wiring of signals where single ended is one wire per signal and differential is 2 wires per signal.
It has nothing to do with "encoder or glass scales", both can have both types of wiring.

Version 2.8 is when everything moved from Python 2 to Python 3.

Most common issue with no motion is too short step times
I would set the step length to say 5000 and try again

i set the step to 32000 like i had it in mach3. is that too short?

7i76e step dir signal missing for stepgen type 0

Category: Driver Boards

I would probably set the step space and step length to 5000,5000
and dir setup and dir hold to 10000,10000 on that drive.

That is, double the minimum drive timings.
