gladeVCP not calling python handlers

Category: GladeVCP

I have been struggling to understand why my gvcp handlers are not being called. I'm running LCNC 2.9.4. Maybe I don't have syntax correct or missing a configuration item. I've attached my .ui and .py files for reference. Would someone please provide guidance?

Kind Regards,

Troubles to get started with SD240 Retrofit

Category: Turning

I think I found most settings in linuxcnc.org/docs/html/examples/spindle.html
Lets see how far I get.
Only thing is that my encoder is a 2000 pulse encoder and in the example its a 100pulse per rev. encoder. We wills see...

Carousel don t stop when estop is pushed

Category: QtPyVCP

  Hello to everybody
I retrofited two mills , one is complet functional , it work fine , Cincinna Milacro , and other one it is on demand , Leadwell VMC40.
The first is with 7i92+7177+7i84 Mesa Cards , and the second with cards from Yurtaev.com (mithsubishi) , pci card.
On the second mill , when I try to configurate the carousel for homing ,carousel  starts moving , but when I push the estop  to stop the rotate ,  don t stop !, even from desktop estop or power btn . So, I try this for the first one mill to check it ,and ,  unfortunately is the same issue.
The same is when M6 Txx  is requared from MDI , don t stop when estop is pushed , on both of mills.
The carousel have geneva mechanism , both of them with home pin and index pin .The configuration is from examples that are in Probe basic files(M13)
Any advice for eliminate the issue ?
Thanx in advance

Proximity sensor hardware debounce?

Category: Basic Configuration

On the bench it works.

Important is to know that the signal is inverted.
Option 1 use a second schmittriger to re invert. As example.. from 1Y to 2A and from 2Y to motion card.
Option 2 change signal in hal from in to in_not.

Hope it's the same for you guys, here it is flowing just fine since yesterday after several days of sluggishness.

Wouldn't go anywhere else than the official site. Appreciate the effort from langdons, but doesn't really solve anything.

Edit: It didn't take long after I wrote it and the first contact takes a very long time.

This is not really LinuxCNC related but something I should have done years ago, 3D-printed T-slot covers. It makes it much easier to vacuum up all the chips of the table.

It took three iterations to get the profile right, here are the test pieces I went through.

Here is the complete set that I installed.

They are printed out of flexible TPU filament and took about 4,5 hours to print on a Bambulab P1S printer.

It doesn't seem to be a DNS issue to me, rather too high load on the web server for some reason.

Troubles to get started with SD240 Retrofit

Category: Turning

The 7I33 can just ..., not pin-by-pin as most newer Mesa cards can do.

Is there a better alternative to the 7i33- just in case?

How can I get the spindle indexed?  Setup at the spindle is different- the motor encoder (G5) is just wired to the amplifier and not accessible for me, but a second encoder for threading (G2) is driven by the spindle via a toothed belt (1:1)
Signals for G2 are similar to the axes encoder signals, Ua1/Ua1*, Ua2/Ua2* and the index Ua0 single (non differential)

Mechanical Setup:

Wiring of G2:

I have the spindle running with G2 as a feedback- this works fine but I will need the index for threading.
How can I manage this?   I tried to make the index visible in HAL Scope, but can not set the "index enable" (get an error message)

The encoder G2 is connected to the 7i33 as ENC02, as said works fine for spindle feedback so far.

please check your Opto-Outputs, perhaps they are too slow for the short pulses. ?!?!

EDIT: and please add you config

Are you suggesting it's the DNS server that is the issue ?

I don't understand if the server at forum.linuxcnc.org is under high load how accessing it via an IP address will speed things up.

And how does linuxcnc.langdonstaab.ca make things quicker ?
Have you got prior approval for this ?
Can you guarantee this will be a safe and secure method of accessing the forum ?
Is this a replication of the forum, with you running the forum software ?
If so how did to you get admin rights ?

I'm really confused as to how this is going to work and improve access, if beyond a quicker dns query time.

Thanks for the response.

Changed the parameters in the /etc/fstab entry to:
defaults,x-systemd.automount,x-systemd.mount-timeout=30,_netdev,x-systemd.after=network-online.target 0 0

This works fine, thanks.

"automount nfs but wait for interface to be up" is a google search phrase that brings up some good answers. Apparently there are some options you can add to fstab to help out.
