Halo Marius,
I do use Aptana Studio 3, as I like it most of all the stuff I tried. It has code compltation as well as code checking.
And best, also a Debugger is included.
May be I can post later my settings, as the standard is not the best in my opinion.
I will also post a skeleton to beginn with if you want to add your own handlers.
Norbert

Hi Norbert
Yes that will be great. For the template and the settings please. I will get Aptana in the mean time.

I use Eclipse for C and Python (often both at the same time) when working on LinuxCNC.
(And, just to complicate matters, I work at a Mac, which also hosts the git repositories, which are remote-mounted by the target systems)

Eclypse is a very powerfull IDE, but in my opinion to heavy to use it with pure python. And you have to install aditional parts to get python suport. Aptana is the small Eclypse with pydev (python support) on board.
I tested both and find Aptana to fit best my needs, but it is like most thinks in the world, there are several ways to reach your goal and each way has its own advantages.

Halo Marius and all the others interested in python glade and gmoccapy:
Here you can download Aptana Studio 3
Attached are my settings, with optimized Code Highlight and adapted style to be most PEP8 conform:
(you will have to uncompress before import)
How To Import Settings
And second attachment is the skeleton for custom panel with hide hal pin for Marius
Just copy the 4 files to sim/gmoccapy and start hiding_panel.ini for testing.
See the source code py file for a lot of comments and hints and the ini file for how to embed this.

Ha Norbert must be the nicest guy on this forum.
Thanks a lot man, not only did you solve the problem but you also caused me to get committed to learn Python and GladeVCP.
I was getting frustrated by not being able to take full advantage of many of the LCNC features due to my lack of knowledge of Python.
I am sure a lot of other people will also benefit from your efforts here.
