the firer voltige is about 240V
the cut voltige will be around 112
so it is fine to get direct as the othere thc do so
and the 300 version is clar up to 5000volts on egnigting /M3

Pilot arc is a great start but don't assume it has a CNC interface and voltage divider. There has been quite a discussion recently by JTKnives and PhillC who both have a Hypertherm 30 XP about how to install the THCAD with their machines that do not have a CNC interface or divider.

So you say that my TCHAD300 will not fix this or?

It'll be fine I think. Best to install it inside the case and attach to the electrodes. Send 5v down the cable to power it and receive the frequency back for the encoder.
For ArcOK, you can just put a hall effect current senor around the anode clamp cable. Others will know a bit more about this.

for arc-ok I used one of these, recovered from a broken plasma.
in practice it is a contact in a glass bulb that closes with the magnetic field that flows in the coil, it is inserted in series to the positive and generally closes already with 5 amps.
for information inside the machine it is used for the transferred arc signal

Billy, that is a "reed relay" and the nice thing is it is fully isolated.
Pl7i92, firing the arc on plasma machines is usually at 2000 to 20000V, depending on the type, but they do have protections in place so they do not blow the rectifier.
Wiring the THC should be done as close to the rectifier as possible although wiring it at the main terminals works, but a bit risky.

sure Tom, I used that quietly because my plasma doesn't have hf but I think that even hf doesn't give problems since this reed is also used inside hf machines.
this is just an idea then you need to be sure of what you see the danger to things and to us

I need some help from someone in Germany. I am looking at this combined TIG/Plasma
www.lcdvision-schweisstechnik.de/navi.php?a=888&lang=eng
Been writing to the company but I get no answer at all.
Can somebody make a call and wake them up and ask them to answer my emails sent from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
