using a 4 CPU PC is quite overkill at a litte 2D mashine Plasma
so why do you get use cpu 0,1
did you try to isolate also 1,2,3
to only get the main cpu tu operate RT

What is the correct way to connect the 7i96 isolated output TB3 pins to my Cut40 plasma for torch start.

The yellow wires in the first pic go to the toroidal are the start wires that went to the hand torch then the blue wires from the toroidal
go to the second toroidal as in the second pic.

I am not sure how it works but I suspect the switch makes a shorted turn on the toroidal to activate the torch start.

That might take a relay since its a AC signal you are switching

Can you measure the open circuit AC voltage on the yellow wires?
You can switch AC signals with the 7I96 outputs by using 2 outputs in series
( AC1 ==> OUT0+ ==> OUT0- ==> OUT1- ==> OUT1+ ==> AC2 )
_BUT_ only up to 24VAC

Edit
Note that without measurements, I cannot be sure that the switch signal is AC.
(I was assuming the toroid connected to the yellow wires was a transformer,
but it could wired as a common mode choke.) So the signal needs to be measured
to determine the voltage whether its AC or DC, and perhaps the current that's switched

Peter. I have measured it open circuit it shows 25.4vDC and about 0.9v AC current is about 1.6mA when torch on.

I would shoot for complete galvanic isolation using a relay to be totaly safe The few ms of delay introduced by the relay will be short compared to the inverter control.

I wholly agree. Use a relay. Please ! :)

Ok back to my Brix pc problem. Using the same SSD in the Brix the machine motors run rough and give a lot of errors but when Iswap the ssd to another pc it runs fine and smooth.

Does this give any clues, This was running for about 10 mins. I have tried disabling all what I can in the bios.
Edit: I have also used isoicpus to disable cores 2,3 and tried it with disabling 0,1 to no avail.

Is it connected directly to the PC?
The reply time on the ping is way off and all over the place.
The below was suggested by PCW and it does work.
sudo ethtool -C [your_ethernet_device-name] rx-usecs 0
