the isolation of the torch is esential in some Plasma setups
motor rough menas offen to low Microstepping 400 / Half minimum
also if you direct connected the Steppers did they got a full gronding wire that safed offen my builds on plasmas

The 7I96 outputs _are_ galvanically isolated but are not intended
for high voltage isolation, due to close component spacing.
The transformer is HIPOT tested at 1500V RMS

I would shoot for complete galvanic isolation using a relay to be totaly safe The few ms of delay introduced by the relay will be short compared to the inverter control.

Ok I tried to use the line but:
cnc@Brix:~/Desktop$ sudo ethtool -C eth0 B4:2E:99:5F:DD:27 rx-usecs 0
[sudo] password for cnc:
sudo: ethtool: command not found
Edit: Is this latency ok if so any more suggestions why the Brix won't perform

100 usec seems OK for a Mesa Ethernet card here.
BUt it would be better to try it with
latency-histogram --nobase so it gets rid of the base thread testing.

Yes its very strange if I take the SSD out of the brix and stick it in another pc it all works fine. With the brix the motors run rough and it throws following errors.
I am thinking that I should start afresh with the brix and down load the iso from scratch and start again. I had done the ssd on another machine before.

Rod. Did I read somewhere that you used mint on the Brix ? If so I would like to try that.
I am running out of ideas re the Brix the machine runs fine on an old Dell but not on the Brix with the same config.

Yes, when I got my machine up and running, it was before the stretch ISO was released and a lot of hardware drivers not available anywhere else so it was quite a journey that required compiling the kernel.
HINT: leave that run overnight as it takes hours.
Big John has a how to on gnipsel gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/uspace/index.html
Tommy has a shortcut here on the forum but it did not work for me on other hardware.
