Chris.
another question, please.
I am now using the 'stock' qtdragon, which is much easier than worrying about making changes.
My small side panel also seems to be working ok.
But, I have made a few changes to versa_probe.ui to make it larger and stretchable. Sorry I do not like your recent changes that made is smaller....
Anyway, how can I use my copy, placed in the config directory, rather than the supplied file way down in /usr/shar/qtvcp/widgets_ui ???
how can I call out my file? or use a link? or what?????
in the .ini ?? or in the handler file??
what? where? how?
copy of my versa_probe.ui attached.

Roguish
The easiest way is to make a copy of the original and replace the file in /usr/share/qtvcp/widgets_ui/ with the modified one.
You can give the file an i attribute to prevent overwriting "sudo chattr +i /usr/share/qtvcp/widgets_ui/versa_probe.ui"
The same could be done with /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/qtvcp/widgets/versa_probe.py
Then neither root nor updates will overwrite these files.
If Chris is interested I can adjust versa_probe to make it look good in full resolution ranges in qtdragon.

Hello Chris
The angular velocity slider is working properly.
The decimal values in baasicprobe and facing work fine, but there are still some minor tweaks to be done.
In the facing.py file, change the spindle value lines to self.lineEdit_spindle.setValidator(QtGui.QRegExpValidator(QRegExp('[0-9]{0,5}')))
because you can enter a comma and it should be an integer.
Similarly, in basic_probe the probe tool value is also an integer value.
Then "bolt hole circle" and "ngcgui" and you'll be fine.

Roguish:
Stretchable widgets are good. I'm not a fan of your color choices but that can be changes with the stylesheet. In fact I would take the style sheet out of the widget and put it in the main stylesheet.
I just prefer more contrasting colors. As for the buttons I though having them apart would make it easier to hit the right one. having them together looks better.
I don't have a supper strong feeling either way.
Here is what Roguish 's changes look like (collapsed).

Sorry also - yes no 'easy' way to modify widgets.
Markopolo's suggestions are the most straight forward.

MarkoPolo:
Thanks for testing, I will work on your suggestions.
As for Versaprobe, maybe you and Roguish can hash out the best design?
You guys are better at it then me and I'll deffer to people who actually use the widget.
