Sorry for not responding but Ive been trying other distributions (Mint, Ubuntu, and some wonky 3rd one I cant remember) hoping for better results and all end in either failed installs or crappy results.

I have another pc im hoping to try but havent gotten to it yet. Ill try the clock correction thing tomorrow and see if that yields anything better.

Good Evening All,

I am building an electronics enclosure for my CNC router project and need some education on relays/contactors.  I have a couple salvaged components from an industrial bandsaw that I am integrating such as safety relays, e-stops, buttons, terminal blocks, and maybe contactors…  I preface all the below with I don’t know much about how electrical components work so PLEASE point out even something basic that I might have gotten wrong because I honestly do not know.

The very basic question of this is how do you size relays/contactors for inductive loads such as Makita RT0701C and 48vdc power supplies to run the steppers?  I will be running two separate circuits but if I hit the e-stop I want to cut power to these components while leaving other things like PC, Mesa card, fans, and the e-stop system itself powered.

* Circuit 1 - Makita – 6.5 amp 120vac in
* Circuit 2 - 2x 48vdc PSUs 5amp 120vac in (6amp 3sec surge)

My research says you have to go 5-10x the load when sizing relays/contactors but does that mean I would need a 120amp contactor for my steppers that are a 10 amp regular load?!  the 10x number was more related to solid state relays but this just seems nuts.

I found a McMaster-Carr table that shows a 1.5 hp motor drawing 20amps at full load (Makita claims 1.25) and I would need up to a 200 amp contactor?!  www.mcmaster.com/7603KAC/

As stated electricity and I are not the best of friends so we avoid each other as much as possible.  I could be (and hope I am) missing something very basic here.

Components I have:
* Idec SJ2S-07LW 8amp icecube type relays – 24vdc coil draws 0.025 amp when closed
* Mitsubishi S-T10 Contactors – 24vdc coil draws a MASSIVE 1.3amps when closed (not sure I want or even CAN use these also WHY would this draw so much?)
* TWTADE/JQX-62F-2Z 80 amp contactor - 24vdc coil draws 0.088 amp when closed
* LCTC Solid State Relay 80amp – Its in the mail but don’t know if its any good.

The below is the basic plan I have for wiring power.  If anything in this looks wonky let me know as well please

New PR from YangYang is ready, hopefully will be merged soon in master

This adds ruckig in the planner type 1
if you want to test it get the binary from

github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/actions/runs/21975584400

or build source from my repo

github.com/grandixximo/linuxcnc

Testers are welcome to report here or in github, thanks!

Hello gentlemen,

movement are incredible smooth ... basic shaping what I have tested till now is pretty ... but during movement at more points during simulation of rotation interpolation its jumping or woobing ... kind off braking and next accelleration

most spiking during cloud of points are gone ... some spiking are still present but it a huuuuge step forward

testing setup 2ms benchtop profibus master 3axis geany gui ... 3 servo axis with synchronized speed control loop at 2ms

some testing fault popups triggered during the movement of file 3_1001.ngc

I am still testing at default simulation file from past but splitted to separated operations ..

thanks a lot for your progress ... I am watching it every single day with mount open and box of popcorn to reading the edits ...

regards E.

I have noticed the slowing during the round movement too but I forgot to noticed it here.... yes it is present and its present during 100% feed value ...

crashes are not present during the 100% feed just if its not 100% ...

crash log is in the attachement if somebody are interested ...

I’ve updated AndyPugh macros to the latest version, and now it seems to work, but it shows the tool change tab and doesn’t go any further.

if you don't touch the feed override, the errors can still come up?

I used previous PC,
1. Installed by 2.9.4 iso ,
2. Upgraded 2.9.5
3. EOE recompile, r8168-dkms
4. Worked.
5. Upgraded 2.9.8
6. Some command(attached previous)
5. This trouble.

Speaking of r8168,already installed in this PC. But
What should I write in
 /etc/ethercat.conf,DEVICE_MODULES="generic"?
Is "generic' Ok?

Some of settings may have been initialized by upgrade... I attached what I did after upgrade.

I found some post about upgrade trouble EtherCAT,
forum.linuxcnc.org/ethercat/45336-etherc...tep?start=180#293489
Should I go back to previous version ?  (But 2.9.5 have some bugs for Jog movement )

I can also reinstall using 2.9.8 iso from the begining next time with another PC.

My initial tests showed no violations of the limits for jerk and acceleration.

Has the track speed for circles G2/G3 been reduced in the past?

The speed with G2/G3 seems very low to me.

In the driver config string will set the mode to 2 which will enable both
the MPG encoder inputs and analog inputs.

Note that the encoder inputs are intended for MPG use and

1. Are fairly slow
2. Do not support index

You would normally use the 7I76EU high speed encoder input for the
spindle (TB3 pins 7..15)

Those values need a massive offset (-22900), has that been applied?

LinuxCNC 2.9.8, QtPyVCP 5.0.6, Qt 5.15.8 and Probe Basic 0.6.2

Updated everything like a week ago. Went with the stable release of Probe Basic because my linuxcnc computer is not connected to the internet and I have to unmount it and take it to a place where i have Internet to update it. So I do not update it that often and wanted the most stable version.

Should I update to the dev version?

@ m.ruefenacht

Do you have anything that you can share? I have a LCNC CAM grinder on my list of things to build.

I’ve been reading through AndyPugh thread, but honestly I still have no idea how to get it working in Probe Basic Lathe.

Whats the version? I saw this in a recent update and fixed it. The most recent should be resolved of that issue.

It is not specific to probe basic, but linuxcnc by andypugh, perhaps search kathe macros, i think there is a big thread on it and how to use and you can check if the macros are correct

Not sure on conversational, i dont use it and didnt build that it was a pull request from a user. Could be the macros for it need to be fixed
