THC doesent work when G code is running was created by GFC
while doing the first tests on my machine I noticed that THC doesnt work when the machine is running G code
I looked around and did some tests and it does work and move the z axis when I start a manual cut with f9 and jog with the arrow keys

QtplasmaC is getting arc voltage and arc ok signals
the G code im testing is the metric wrench and things from the conversational panel
the THC enabled light turns on but not the active light
it looks like the machine is getting up to the feed speed

how should i troubleshoot this and am I missing something obvious?

read if you have personal c or c++ components was created by grandixximo
The HAL types and isolation work on master 2.10, changes how C/C++ components register and access pins and params: opaque refs with hal_get_*/hal_set_* accessors instead of direct volatile pointer dereference. The old API still builds (deprecations, not removals), so this is a migration window, if you need clarification please post here or better on

Help needed for conversion of old ( and loved ) Mach3 MPG was created by muddiver
Hi folks!

i try to get my loved MPG in action in Linuxcnc, but i struggle..

when i ask lsusb i get told its a:
Code:
ID 07c0:0115 Code Mercenaries Hard- und Software GmbH KeyWarrior Combo O Commander when i ask cat /proc/bus/input/devices i get [code]I: Bus=0003 Vendor=07c0 Product=0115 Version=0110 N: Name="Code Mercenaries KeyWarrior Combo O Commander" P: Phys=usb-0000:2a:00.3-3.4.4/input0 S: Sysfs=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:08.1/0000:2a:00.3/usb3/3-3/3-3.4/3-3.4.4/3-3.4.4:1.0/0003:07C0:0115.0004/input/input13 U: Uniq= H: Handlers=sysrq kbd event13 leds  B: PROP=0 B: EV=120013 B: KEY=1000000000007 ff800000000007ff febeffdfffefffff fffffffffffffffe B: MSC=10 B: LED=1f I: Bus=0003 Vendor=07c0 Product=0115 Version=0110 N: Name="Code Mercenaries KeyWarrior Combo O Commander" P: Phys=usb-0000:2a:00.3-3.4.4/input1 S: Sysfs=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:08.1/0000:2a:00.3/usb3/3-3/3-3.4/3-3.4.4/3-3.4.4:1.1/0003:07C0:0115.0005/input/input14 U: Uniq= H: Handlers=mouse1 event14  B: PROP=0 B: EV=17 B: KEY=70000 0 0 0 0 B: REL=3 B: MSC=10 when i run "halrun" and type in: loadusr -W hal_input Code Mercenaries KeyWarrior Combo O Commander The keys get loaded, but they get loaded 5 times! I am told that the name for the device is "Code Mercenaries KeyWarrior Combo O Commander" , but the message also shows 5 times! What am i doing wrong? Whats confusing to me too, is that i cannot use  loadusr -W hal_input "Code Mercenaries KeyWarrior Combo O Commander" , that one won't work, only without " , its accepted. As far as i know, you should always use " when there are blanks in a name / path. Thanks in advance, Tom

hey i just saw this and had to comment as i have been down this path about 10 times on big machines.

my experience when i looked into it was that using any of the fanuc stuff was just not worth it compared to new chinese servos. i use the Yuhai brand (have bought like 70 of them now)

a 2.2kw motor and drive 200v input power costs like 300 usd per axis. so 600 usd total. and you get new motors and drives that don't have issues. i tried keeping old electronics going too many times and it didn't work out for me. the i spent like 1000usd trying to fix old fanuc drives and then heidenhain fagor misubishi etc eventually i just come back to what i should have done in the first place and just bought new motors. anyway after 7 years and over 70 motors ranging from 400w up to 4.5kw i have only ever had one motor fail. and no drives and i think that was our fault with bearing misalignment the zaxis brake failed in it. But it is truely nice to just turn the machine on and know that it's just going to work.

also china has very nice vfd drives now you can get a 11kw drive for 200usd. or one that can turn a normal motor(like a pump farm motor even..) into a pretty rigid servo drive for about 900usd for 11kw
anyway let me know if you want any advice cheers

i am interested also in this as i have a large mazak horizontal cnc with a 80 pocket toolchanger and sister tools and tool time tracking will be nice so i will look at this when i get to it. machine is almost running cutting parts so close now

yep no stress. hopefully as time goes on people will test this and use it. just would be a waste if it never got used. But i have 7 cnc machines myself that are getting the conversational stuff and a general upgrade of linuxcnc. and it's worth the time just for me so not too fussed if no one else uses this. machines are getting pretty cool now. with all the auto tool measure stuff it all makes a massive difference how fast jobs get done. and auto tool measuring means that i don't get the chance to make mistakes with tool offsets and they always stay loaded so i don't do any hacks. cause the fastest option is clicking measure and walking away to carry on programming on cam

cheers

First of all, thank you very much for your interest and support. The diagram you sent already formed my starting point. However, since there is a 90-degree difference between the slider joint and the next joint, I wanted to redo the calculations.

Also, since Genserkins only supports rotary axes, I will not be using it. I will recreate the kinematics according to my system.

Is the DH parameters below right?

Those won't work. First indication is the simple fact that you are mixing distances and angles. Also note that genserkins uses 'modified DH' parameters not the standard 'DH' parameters.

I already posted the parameters for your robot that should work for your robot, why don't you start by trying those?

Moin,

The Linux CNC FPGA control board I bought connects to the motor driver, and it works perfectly with the 74HC245.

There is no problem connecting the DM542 using the 74HC245.

The FPGA (3.3V) is directly connected to the 74HC245 (5V).
