Sorry,

aber ich halte davon ziemlich wenig. Gatetreiber nimmt man dann, wenn man Gates treiben will Im Ernst. Die können hohe Ströme etc. Außerdem ziehen die nicht auf Masse sondern versorgen.

ULNs/Darlington Arrays sind perfekt für deine Anwendung. Eigentlich ebenfalls over the top.

net pdnt.feed-override.increase whb.halui.feed-override.increase halui.feed-override.increase
net pdnt.feed-override.decrease whb.halui.feed-override.decrease halui.feed-override.decrease

Besten Dank schon mal im Voraus.

24V ?

If the encoder has 24V outputs, that would likely damage the 7I48

Are these single ended encoders (5 wire) or differential (8 wire)?

Is the 7I48 jumpered to match the encoder type?

One way to check the encoder inputs is to disconnect them from the encoders,
set the input modes to single ended and the selectively ground the A,B and index
inputs while watching the hal a,b,and index pins with halshow. These
pins would be named something like:

hm2_7i80.0.encoder.00.input-a
hm2_7i80.0.encoder.00.input-b
hm2_7i80.0.encoder.00.input-index

Yes, you were right.
It was EMC problems.
I have now purchased CAT6 cables and made sure that no loops form. The error EtherCAT WARNING 0-1: Slave did not sync after 5000 ms has disappeared and I am currently having no problems with the Y-axis.

Thank you very much for the tip.

The 7i48 doesn't seem to be reading the encoders. Tried with the servo's built in ones; oscilloscope sees a/b/z pulses; tried with a cheap lbd3806 A/B enc both at 5v and at 24v - again, the scope can see a/b pulses, but nothing from the 7i48. (differential/single-ended set appropriately for each different encoder).

mesaflash readhmid shows there are encoder modules but is it weird that 'Registers:' is 0 for MuxedQCountSel?:

Module: MuxedQCount
There are 12 of MuxedQCount in configuration
Version: 4
Registers: 5
BaseAddress: 3600
ClockFrequency: 100.000 MHz
Register Stride: 256 bytes
Instance Stride: 4 bytes

Module: MuxedQCountSel
There are 1 of MuxedQCountSel in configuration
Version: 0
Registers: 0
BaseAddress: 0000
ClockFrequency: 100.000 MHz
Register Stride: 256 bytes
Instance Stride: 4 bytes

PWM is working on the 7i48 and making servos move, just no feedback.

What have I missed?

Looks like a bad bit on the PCI interface.

If the card has not been mechanically damaged, the most likely
cause would be dirty contact fingers on the 5I25 or dirty slot
contacts on the PCI slot.

As a first attempt to fix, I would clean the 5I25 contact fingers
and PCI slot contacts with 99% IPA or other contact cleaning solution.

Hi to all!

After some months without using the machine and waste some time to bring the pc running again, I got this error trying load linuxcnc.

Unfortunately,  Rod couldn't continue testing this sensor with the Linux CNC.

So, I have a question:

Would anyone be willing to test the device?

I'm looking for someone with knowledge who will find the time to do so soon and share their honest observations here, especially the shortcomings.

Due to the insanity that has been going on in the US I have been staying quiet. Yes it's very embarrassing
what has been going on. And then to have these heavy handed, very corrupt bills being introduced, is
shameful to say the least. They have done it with Drones( Rc Airplanes, Helicopters, and Multirotors ) now
they want to do the same with micro scale manufacturing, and E-bike stuff. All in the name of safety and
security.
The worst part is even if someone were to leave the US the rest of the world will see any American individual
in the same light.
Guilt by association.

Now back to going quiet

Thanks PCW, this got us our first axis movements on the Morbidelli since starting the project. Yes, I did want 2x modbus ports and 2x smartserial on this if possible. Could you confirm that this should work (with the RS422/485 adapters) through 7i42TA pins also?
