Looks awesome tommy, BUt where is your beloved LAms on the Z axis. Any reason you did not use one?

Oh yes there is, i have no more ! As usual i ordered them through a friend as he needed some also, and the bastard ordered only his ! Now when i go to install everything for him, i have a feeling some are going to mysteriously disappear ! :) Nahhhh, just kidding, he just forgot as he is spaced out most of the time, or "slow" as some call that phenomena.
Unfortunately, this is dragging on so maybe i get some more of them before i finish this one. I did put a Leadshine 742 in it, and it works nicely, but it is no Lam Tech.

LOL, chairs are busy holding stuff. I never sit while working, ever.

Here are some close ups of the Z axis inner workings to get a better idea of how things work together as there are two sets of moving parts on a floating head. Do not mind the dirty alu part, this one is for me personally so i just need to build another smaller machine to attach this to ! :)
From above, the space is very narrow so takes a lot of time to adjust everything in place:

Same thing but inside where it belongs, notice the tight space:

Side view of that assembly, floating part moved out, or up when it is in place on the machine:

Same view with the floating part pressing on the micro switch, or material found when in use:

Same pictures as the last two but this time with the screw inserted:, bottom position, switch triggered:

Up position, switch released:

And here are two finished Z axis and two uprights for the smaller machine:

Here is how my work shop looks today:

Both machine metal parts are gone to get a new paint job, so i have 2 days to mess around with smaller stuff, or start another machine..... :)
Regards,
Tom.

6 days, 3 painting jobs on them, still nothing !
They messed up everything, from not preparing the parts at all and wasting some very good paint i gave them, to painting them with some really crappy paint, to painting them blue that i do not like at all.
Might have to send them to a different paint shop, so another 3 or more days of waiting.
DAMN!

Thank you.
The main issue is sending them to "professionals", i can do a much, much better job by using spray cans ! Miserable.

I found the same problem here when I was still working, it was getting harder and harder to find someone to do good work. ☹️
I'm glad I am retired and don't have to worry about that any more.
