It's been backed up by several, so if he drops development we will just carry it on.

It's weird, but I just noticed that if I launch linuxcnc over ssh using Xserver forwarding (Xming putty on Windows) the code run almost entirely without errors. Usually it pops after a few seconds of moviment, but this time it almost run entirely. I didn't stop the lightdm service on the Pi board, just launched the AXIS UI over SSH on my local network.

Hi Dolence,
Thanks for you explain, I have slow system that on the opposite side from you.
I also have the same error with stock configuration (3A_TEST example) same as you.
But I run the 3T_Test configuration with no error. So I guest CPU of the pi was not handle the AXLE GUI well.

Is it using software or hardware rendering? More little things to add up to does it work well or not. It just needs a good going over and some cleanup.

Dolence, Bari
The latest repo is allwincnc.github.io/
i know there were 2 other attempts at repos
but the above is the most up to date afaicy.
unforch there is a notice
"""
NEWS:
30.07.2021: The project was archived.
25.06.2021: Actual project installer make your board unbootable on latest Armbian_21.05.1 with Linux kernel v5.10.34. Use an older images if possible.
13.06.2021: Increased encoder's position/velocity accuracy (thanks to M.Widlok)
07.06.2021: Added full support of ABZ encoder
"""
i hope archived != cold storage.
so, i dunno where we are but hope that I can use the last version I downloaded,
and that in the future, the boot problem is solved and the project can progress.
For my self I am tossing my latest opi/TSX0108e in the grbg and hand wiring
my opi+2e to leadshine 3phse stepppers. Sounds easy but i can hardly
see these tiny wires and dupont pins anywore. Well, i can do it till i go blind
damn grey text on paper white bg damn!
my screen has nose prints on it.

Thanks Bari,
how do we check which method is used for rendering?
Which one is the one we want for arisc-pwm-stepgen?
I thought it was in armbian-config but no.
i migth be remebering raspbian-config or a dream.
1 hr googling and i see i dont know how to ask the question..
ambian video rendering? h3 video rendering? no luck

Dolence
you have already done what i suggested
i will read the post Bari mentioned and see if i can suggest anything.
Remind me though, what board, what memory, and do you know if parrt of that memory is taken by the video system?
btw when i issue uname -r
i get
5.10.21-rt34-sunx1
I dont know how to evalute your result but at least we have some fixed info
about what envirinments are.

re video driivers and video acceleration:
:
i seem to have 'lima'
try sudo modinfo lima on your orange pi
from sunxi:
Lima is a project to develop a completely open source graphics driver which supports ARM's Mali-400 and Mali-450 GPUs.
somethng call Panfrost is similar for newer more powerful mali GPU's
also, if i view /boot/dtb5.10.34-sunxi/sunxi-h3-orangepi-pluse2e.dtb using mc
i can see any ascii text in the binary
and i see
sun8i-h3-mali.armmali400
and i see
gpu@1c40000
i am very sure i dont know what i am talking about
just seeing some related things on web
sources:
linux-sunxi.org/Mali#Lima_driver_.28Open_Source.29
tomp
I am _guessing_ that I have hardware video acceleration
note undersores
hahahah i just saw the lima driver webpage is on the wayback machine
web.archive.org/web/20180101212947/http://limadriver.org/
(meaning it is so old it was put into archives for historians to look at )
its really not that old, its just so far behind whats new
( read the stepper stores by Stephen Baxter and Terry Prachett for a new take on time and a very new take on steppers)

Hi Tjtr33,
They already talk about the GPU hardware accel drivers issue in page 14.
Try to close the tool path drawing and swith to just show the DRO reading.
I can run that with the store 3A_CONFIG with no Follow issue.
But if I try to open a firefox. the Follow issue comes out.
I think is the cpu have the hard time for handle the feedback from "arisc.pwm.0.pos-fb" to "joint.0.motor-pos-fb" when it doing heavy duty work, Then it cause the Follow XX issue.
