Tommy,
I've got a 7i96s + 7i85s +7i84d + 7i73 in my current project
7i96s => sserial => 7i84d
7i85s => sserial => 7i73
Gives me
This is a stupid amount of capability and IO for four comparatively low-cost boards.

Gives me
- 9 S&D outputs
- 5 hs encoder inputs (1 on 7i96s, 4 on 7i85s)
- spindle, sub-spindle, live-tool, plus X & Z scales!
- 1 analog spindle output
- ~60 inputs (using 4x8 matrix keypad on 7i73)
- 4 0-36v analog inputs
- 4 0-3.3v analog inputs
- 6 (!) MPG encoder inputs
- ~40 outputs
- 32 button inputs on matrix keypad

Sooooo a 7i92 with 7i85S and 7i74, then anything sserial like 7i83 and the existing 7i70 and 7i71 should work just fine.
Leme see if i can order 7i92TM and 7i85S and 7i83, the rest i have, and i have drives that can do analog or SD, so more room forplaying hmmm testing.
Ok,
www.welectron.com/Motion-Controller
has 7i96S and 7i72
while
www.eusurplus.com
has 7i92TM, 7i83, 7i85S, 7i72,
Notice 7i72, those are for my Mazak so i can get rid of those hideous output inverters i had to make!

@Andy,
Looks like cncmonster.de has become cncmonster.eu and do software stuff, nothing about Mesa that i can find and the link as is does not work.
Might add the welectron link as they are also in Germany.
@Peter,
Feel free to bite my head off if i messed up something, besides having to enrich my Mesa stash, i had to sift through to much stuff last two days as i am thinking of also getting some china servo drives and motors toplaying hmmm test and a big VFD!

Any word on when more boards will be coming? I am about to buy a VMC that requires a retrofit, so I'm looking for an analog servo board (7i77, 7i97, etc).

Mesa 7i96S with 7i85 and 7i83 should do just fine and can be easily found.
5 stepgens, 4 analog outs, 4 encoders, 4+1 SSerials for more whatever you might need and a 0-10V spindle output with it's own encoder.

A 7I95T + 7I83 is another option for Analog servo control,
We should have a few 7I97Ts soon if I didn't have any
major screw ups on the proto.
