The PID and also the limit input is for now fully bypassed until having good result with encoder i use spindle open loop.

Regarding to the encoder.input-index it is possible to invert ?

Really sorry to ask many things but this spindle is for me a real big problem from 2 years ago :
motor shunt burned due to oxydation
burned 2x kbmg + 2x ebay controler
order many Dac/opto board/
Loose a very huge amount of time
Replace 2x wall system with mesa card

Regarding to the capacitor on the power supply port from 7i83, i think is not enough because some time the spindle stop herself without any action...

Thansk a lot, i'm close to cry

One change is that you had a 560 Ohm load before and now have a 2000 Ohm load
This may have affected the quadrature symmetry. You may be able to adjust this by lowering the LED current.

Note that you cannot actually see the quadrature signals accurately in halscope unless
you rotate the spindle very slowly

Well you mean increase the 120 ohm resistor ?
halscope with something like 30 rpm is possible but need to test all mode ? (filter/counter/sample-frequency)
the reverted input is not a problem ? (especially for index ?)

Yes, you can invert the index, its one of the encoder parameters

It may simply be that running the 7I83 from the KBMG 15V is not practical
Having a "hot"= floating at line voltage analog control is a problematic

It should have worked with an external supply. I suspect your supply was not isolated hence the line power short

near 30 rpm
quadrature mode
sample-frequency 500000
filter = 1
120 Ohm resistor
no pull down

For now i don't found at home a supply than work without cutting the house power !

if you have any link you are welcome lol

If you look at the right side of the trace it very close to violating quadrature
you may be able to mechanically adjust this or adjust the symmetry with the
LED current, I suspect a quadrature violation is why you have the 0 velocity spikes.

As far as isolated power supplies go almost any transformer based
wall adapter should work, but should be verified with an Ohmmeter
on the megohm range

Wall adapter isolated found :woohoo:

Found the parameter
setp [HMOT](CARD0).encoder.00.index-invert 1
trying to sets spindle-index-enable 1, turn the spindle = does not reset the index-enable (sensor is ok checked by multimeter)

I have unconnected encoder B
set to counter mode 1
speed near 30rpm
200 ohm resistor for led

speed near 450 rpm

Can you post your hal/ini files? looks like something is really broken there

attached the config 100% from this test

I not remember if i says here that i use rpi4 4gb with buster with information from gnipsel.com tutorial.

Hmm i think about something : my Kill switch is connected to 5v from encoder gnd plugg sharing the same 5v for encoder (second wire from kill switchconnected to input 0)
Gnd from optocoupler encoder connected to encoder gnd plugg

Can you look at the encoder velocity pin to eliminate other possible problems
also, if you have a 1 KHz servo thread you should use 1 KHz for Halscope
so you dont miss things
