Looks like the interface dropped the link entirely...

Does the Yellow LED on the 7I96S RJ45 blink out ever?

Still thinking it's a setting? Or hardware?

The same behavior repeats every time.

[7i96 is in back of the machine, so I have to start LCNC and run around to watch...]

Yellow LED stayed lit.
Reds were on (from previous read error?)
Reds went out, green ones blinked sequence then solid
Greens went out, reds lit (assuming when it errored, can't watch screen at same time)
Reds went out again, greens sequenced
Green went out, red lit and stayed lit

EDIT
Sorry, though you meant the yellow board LED.

Yes, the RJ45 yellow LED goes out and them comes back on.

OK I apologize as I was not clear with my red LED comments

If CR7 (/DONE) ever illuminates after power up, there is likely a 5V power issue
(CR6 lighting up after power up indicates a watchdog bite)

Well...

It appears the 7i96s doesnt like buck converters, but it seems OK with field-expedient cheapo USB wall wart and chopped up USB cable.

It's been running for 10 minutes without a single packet error, much less a read finishing tantrum.

I might have another go with the G2 in a little while.

It was only 3 days misery.

Getting the Odroid sorted out last year was 3 or 4 months.

Getting the Odroid sorted out last year was 3 or 4 months.

Hence my insisting on not using any type of SBC for machine control.
I was there once, still have 3 of RPI3 collecting dust. Never again.

UPDATE

The HP Elitedesk 800 G2 mini has been running Deb 12.2 w/rt6.1. No significant changes to config other than typical intel NIC grub stuff.

No read finishing errors for an hour while running YT in background.
